1. POWER MANAGEMENT AND ANTI THEFT SYSTEM.
Description:
We are using 8051 Micro-Controllerto calculatethe Power in a
House and have created a suitable system that bansthe user of
manipulatingthe value of power to theiradvantage since
power theft is a major loss for government in countries like
India.
Components:
8051 Micro-Controller, Energy meter, 230V AC Supply
(Dimmerstat), Load (Bulbs).
Working:
We will calculatethe power by measuring the current and
voltage separately. For giving them to the micro-controller we
have to step down both of them and use a full wave rectifier to
convert it to DC and then give it to ADC since ADC can’t aceept
negative voltages.
Voltage is step down by using a step down transformer
(220V/6V). Then the voltage is passed through a diodebridge,
Low pass Filter and finallythrough a Zener diode that prevent
the overflow of voltage.
2. Current is first sensed through the current sensor, then it is
passed through the diodebridge, Low pass Filter and it is also
passed through the Zener diode for same reason. The final
value that we get is VOLTAGE IN TERMS OF CURRENT.
Then the value of both current and voltage is fed into a
Multiplexer(CD-4051) and the output is given to ADC.
Now, we will run the C code and displaythe value of both
voltages and the calculatedpower.
