2 – 42 GHz - FDD
AIR® uses patented wireless technology to deliver ultra-fast broadband data over
high frequencies by using higher order modulation techniques which require line
of sight.
A very small percentage of non-line of sight situations can be overcome with proper base station
location planning and complementary methods of broadband delivery. So no one is left in the dark.
 Up to 41 Gbps transfer rate per base station enables problem-free reception of
multiple 4k HD TV channels and a broadband speed of up to 2 Gbps to the end
user.
 Unique design enables support for triple play services (4kHD TV, VOIP,
broadband).
 Air® offers approximately 90% lower cost compared to deployment of wireline network.
 Low costs for set up, implementation and maintenance.
 One base station can serve up to 50.000 users, limited by total throughput.
 Customer indoor equipment is standard equipment offered by many vendors.

AIR® System
Globtel’s technology AIR® consists of 2 main
components:
- the base station and
- the transceiver
combining proprietary components with standard
Docsis, DVB/IPTV and LTE equipment.
Customer premises
The AIR® base station and transceiver are specific solutions, but the CPE in customer homes is standard and can be
managed like business-as-usual
The base station is an essential part of the AIR® Last Mile wireless point-to-multipoint system.
It uses microwave based transmission and supports frequency bands between 2 and 42Ghz.
By using carrier aggregation it supports channel width of up to 1 000 Mhz. As a result the
throughput capacities are up to 41 Gbps per BS (DOCSIS) and 18 Gbps per BS (LTE).
The base station is connected to the operators core network and broadcasts the signal to
homes using AIR®.
The transceiver is the counter part of the base station and is located at the customer premises.
It is essentially a bi-directional parabolic microwave antenna (sattelite dish) and an outdoor
unit.
One unit is required per home, or a common unit can also service an apartment block with
multiple homes. This unit down converts the AIR® signal and feeds it into worldwide used
Docsis/LTE standard equipment inside the homes.

3. Use of transparent wireless bridge instead of physical cable/fiber
1. At the base station
the input signal
(DOCSIS, 4G/5G) is
converted to another
frequency (e.g. from 2
GHz to 42 GHz)
2. The signal is
distributed via Point to
Multipoint base station
4. At customer premises the
signal is received by
transceiver and converted
to the original signal
frequency
The transceiver is
bidirectional – i.e. converts
signal from CPE to AIR®
frequency
6. The original network CPE
is used at customers
premises to deliver services
7. CPE is seen in the
network as it would be

  • 12. The AIR® base station and transceiver are specific solutions, but the CPE in customer homes is standard and can be managed like business-as-usual The base station is an essential part of the AIR® Last Mile wireless point-to-multipoint system. It uses microwave based transmission and supports frequency bands between 2 and 42Ghz. By using carrier aggregation it supports channel width of up to 1 000 Mhz. As a result the throughput capacities are up to 41 Gbps per BS (DOCSIS) and 18 Gbps per BS (LTE). The base station is connected to the operators core network and broadcasts the signal to homes using AIR®. The transceiver is the counter part of the base station and is located at the customer premises. It is essentially a bi-directional parabolic microwave antenna (sattelite dish) and an outdoor unit. One unit is required per home, or a common unit can also service an apartment block with multiple homes. This unit down converts the AIR® signal and feeds it into worldwide used Docsis/LTE standard equipment inside the homes. AIR® System – Technology

  • 14. CPE 3. Use of transparent wireless bridge instead of physical cable/fiber 1. At the base station the input signal (DOCSIS, 4G/5G) is converted to another frequency (e.g. from 2 GHz to 42 GHz) 2. The signal is distributed via Point to Multipoint base station 4. At customer premises the signal is received by transceiver and converted to the original signal frequency The transceiver is bidirectional – i.e. converts signal from CPE to AIR® frequency 6. The original network CPE is used at customers premises to deliver services 7. CPE is seen in the network as it would be connected to original network (DOCSIS cable or 4G/5G) AIR® BS AIR® TS AIR® System – How it works?
