AIR® is a patented wireless technology for ultra-high speed broadband data transfer over great distances with the
throughput and performance equaling that of the HFC (hybrid fiber coaxial) network.
AIR® is the first wireless system that provides the same capabilities and speeds as new coaxial cable networks or
enables delivery of triple play services with agreggation of multiple LTE carriers.

2 – 42 GHz - FDD
AIR® uses patented wireless technology to deliver ultra-fast broadband data over
high frequencies by using higher order modulation techniques which require line
of sight.
A very small percentage of non-line of sight situations can be overcome with proper base station
location planning and complementary methods of broadband delivery. So no one is left in the dark.
6. Up to 41 Gbps transfer rate per base station enables problem-free reception of
multiple 4k HD TV channels and a broadband speed of up to 2 Gbps to the end
user.
Unique design enables support for triple play services (4kHD TV, VOIP,
broadband).
Air® offers approximately 90% lower cost compared to deployment of wireline network.
Low costs for set up, implementation and maintenance.
One base station can serve up to 50.000 users, limited by total throughput.
Customer indoor equipment is standard equipment offered by many vendors.

Low Cost
AIR® Last mile solution can be operational in much shorter time compared to
wireline deployments.
No costly and time consuming road and construction work is needed to lay the
cables in the ground, nor building permits.
AIR® – Perfect last mile solution
7. AIR® system can serve customers located up to 50 km from the base station.
Line of sight enables use of newest high level modulation techniques which are a
guarantee for exceptional service quality and user experience.
The system can be deployed in any frequency range from 2 to 42 GHz.
Unique combination of long reach and high capacity makes Air system a perfect
choice for all types of settlements.
AIR® system can be equally effectively deployed in urban, suburban and/or rural
areas.
Long Reach
Quick ROI
All Areas
Low deployment costs, easy integration and low OPEX enable operators quick Return
On Investment (ROI) usually less than 3 years.
AIR® system offers a very good opportunity for investors and green field operators,
especially in underserved areas.
Enables „pay as you grow“ financing policy.

8. Mobile goes fixed
AIR® enables mobile operators to enter fixed market and offer fiber like triple play
services with low cost and easy integration into mobile network. It also allows mobile
network traffic off load and can be used as a backhaul for mobile base stations.
Mobile multi-play
Mobile operators can easily add TV offering to their fixed mobile service and
take advantage of multi-play offering.
Access to remote / underserved areas
Existing operators or investors are now able to offer triple play service to
underserved areas cost effectively and with high ROI.
Cable expands footprint
Cable operators can instantly extend existing network coverage and gain new
customers with seamless integration and the use of existing network and CPE
equipment.
AIR® solution – Soutable for all operators There are four uses cases for TelCos and CableCos
to use Globtel‘s solution instead of investing in
“classical” fixed based solutions:

AIR® System
Globtel’s technology AIR® consists of 2 main
components:
- the base station and
- the transceiver
combining proprietary components with standard
Docsis, DVB/IPTV and LTE equipment.
Customer premises
12. The AIR® base station and transceiver are specific solutions, but the CPE in customer homes is standard and can be
managed like business-as-usual
The base station is an essential part of the AIR® Last Mile wireless point-to-multipoint system.
It uses microwave based transmission and supports frequency bands between 2 and 42Ghz.
By using carrier aggregation it supports channel width of up to 1 000 Mhz. As a result the
throughput capacities are up to 41 Gbps per BS (DOCSIS) and 18 Gbps per BS (LTE).
The base station is connected to the operators core network and broadcasts the signal to
homes using AIR®.
The transceiver is the counter part of the base station and is located at the customer premises.
It is essentially a bi-directional parabolic microwave antenna (sattelite dish) and an outdoor
unit.
One unit is required per home, or a common unit can also service an apartment block with
multiple homes. This unit down converts the AIR® signal and feeds it into worldwide used
Docsis/LTE standard equipment inside the homes.

26. AIR® frequencies
AIR® supports FDD carrier aggregation of most bands in the 2 GHz - 42 GHz range and can handle up to 1.000 MHz
bandwidth per sector, the same spectrum can be reused 4x times in a base station
Already developed, tested and deployed AIR® frequencies (various combinations are possible):
Downstream frequencies:
4 000 – 6 000 MHz
10 000 – 11 700 MHz
11 500 – 14 800 MHz
16 000 – 24 000 MHz
26 000 – 29 000 MHz
31 000 – 33 000 MHz
Upstream frequencies:
4 000 – 5 200 MHz
4 900 – 6 500 MHz
10 000 – 11 700 MHz
24 000 – 25 000 MHz
26 000 – 27 000 MHz
30 000 – 32 000 MHz
Other frequency pairs in range between 2 and 42 GHz are also possible.
Maximum possible bandwidth on Downstream and Upstream is 450 MHz (D3.0 and LTE) and 500 MHz (D3.1).
Exact frequency pair and bandwidth must be previously confirmed by Globtel.
