z Why Homelessness?
 Homelessness is a very important
issue and is continuing to grow in
Ireland.
z
Purpose
 The purpose for this campaign was to
publicize homelessness as much as we
could.
 Also to see how people our age think of
homelessness and to get their thoughts on it.

Problems with our campaign?
As would any group, we came across quite a few problems and hurdles with
which we had to overcome as a team before the deadlines.
Here`s a couple;
> Timing and getting all the tasks done promptly
> Weather- location of out stall compromised, reduced numbers of people
> Meetings and meeting locations
-Library to Dromroe
>Organisational Skills
-Difficulties in beginning
-Missed opportunities
z Impact on UL
 We created a survey on the website "Survey Monkey"
 Posted on UL Business page 2017/2018 on Facebook
 Printed out copies for our stall, 10 people
 Gave out maps of where "Focus Ireland" are based in Limerick
city
z
Conclusions
 Overall - reasonably happy - how our campaign ran.
 Many people took part in our survey - various different
responses from members of our course, our friends and other
members of the UL community.
 We were also happy with the feedback - SU courtyard stall.
 But- certain aspects of the campaign - would have done
differently, if for example we had to do it all over again. I will go
into more detail shortly.
z
 met up twice a week for 2 hours for a number of
weeks planning the logistics and ideas for our
campaigns - all felt - should have met up a for a few
more sessions - finishing touches together.
 previous year`s campaigns - would've been beneficial
- known exactly what was needed for a successful
campaign.
z
 We as a group - worked reasonably well - throughout our
campaign.
 Initially, it took us awhile - sort out our individual tasks for the group.
 After first 2 meetings - weeks 3 and 4 - become used to one
another.
 We all managed - stick strictly to the guidelines whenever - due to
have work done as part of our campaign.
 Important - if you did not have work done when it was due, you
would fall behind.
z
 Since we started this campaign - learned a lot about the issue of
Homelessness in Limerick and on a wider scale in Ireland.
 We also feel, judging by the volume of numbers that took part in
our survey about this issue and the number of people who
approached us in our courtyard stall on Wednesday of week 7,
that members of the UL community know a little more about this
crisis and where they can donate money.
 We know we, as a group, will not put an end to the crisis but we
hope we can make people as aware about it as we can.

Preparation for our Presentation
 Initially, We all met up in the library and discussed how we
would approach this Campaign
 We decided to meet up twice a week every week in
Dromroe (Where Eimear lives) to discuss our campaign
 This was an ideal location as it was quiet, close to campus and
we could stay for as long as we liked
z The Campaign
Facebook Page
 As part of the campaign we made a Facebook page to target the
public to become aware of where and how they could help
 The name of the page is Homelessness awareness Limerick
z
The Campaign
Facebook Page
 Our page has been viewed over 300 times and has managed to
get 30 likes
 Many of our posts have also been shared meaning it is likely
that many more people have seen it.
z

 As part of the Campaign we made a poster and hung it up over
various parts of UL
