1. Chaar Sahibzadey
Babaiyaan Kahaniyaan Putt Saputt Karein

2. Baba Ajit Singh Ji
● Born at Paonta Sahib in 1687
● Along with regular school, learnt
swordsmanship, horse riding and
archery
● Just at the age 12 was sent by Guru
sahib to teach Ranghars a lesson who
had looted Sikhs.
● Was made responsible for defence of
Taragarh fort
● He also recovered Brahmin’s wife from
the Pathans of Bassi

3. Baba Jujhar Singh Ji
● Born at Anandpur Sahib in 1691
● Learnt fighting skills at a young age.
● Had a mentor in Baba Ajit Singh ji
● Became baptized at the age of 8 years
in 1699 when Guru Gobind Singh ji
initiated the Khalsa.

4. Baba Zoravar Singh and Fateh Singh Ji
● Baba Zorawar Singh ji was born at
Anandpur Sahib in 1696
● Baba Fateh Singh ji was born at
Anandpur Sahib in 1699
● Both were attached to Mata Gujri ji a
lot and learnt from her their glorious
and grand history

5. Leaving Anandpur Sahib
● Guru Gobind Singh ji loved everyone and was a pioneer of freedom of speech
and religion
● Treated everyone equally
● After creating Khalsa, sent a strong message
● Aurangzeb didn’t tolerate Guru Sahib’s royal lifestyle
● Hill Rajas were jealous of Guru Sahib as well
● In 1704, the Mughal forces along with Hill Rajas surrounded the Anandpur fort
and asked Guru Sahib to leave with family
● They promised not to harm Guru’s family
● Guru Sahib knew very well that the promises were a lie but still left the fort
with Sikhs and family

6. Leaving Anandpur Sahib - Continued
● After leaving the fort, the Sikhs went towards Sarsa
● Even when outside the comfort of home and in battle like situation, Guru
Sahib did not forget his nitnem. He along with the Sikhs did Asa di Vaar
● Mughals attacked the Sikhs
● Because the Sarsa river was flooded, and sudden attack, Guru Sahib’s family
and Sikhs were separated in 3 different groups
○ Guru Sahib, waddey Sahibzadey and Sikhs
○ Mata Gujri and chottey Sahibzadey
○ Mata Sundri ji, Mata Sahib Kaur ji and other Sikhs
● A lot of literature that the Sikhs were carrying was lost at this time in the Sarsa
● A lot of Sikhs died in the battle and while crossing the flooded Sarsa river

7. Battle of Chamkaur
● Guru Sahib along with 40 Sikhs
including Baba Ajit Singh ji and Baba
Jujhar Singh ji reached Chamkaur
and created an encampment in a
Garri
● Wazir Khan sent an army of 1 million
to Chamkaur and challenged the
Sikhs
● The historic battle of 40 against a
million took place.

8. Battle of Chamkaur
● All Sikhs with Guru including the
waddey Sahibzadey achieved
martyrdom
● Guru Sahib was ordered by the
Panj Pyare to leave the Garhi
● Guru Sahib announced loudly of
his departure and left towards
Machiwara.
● Bhai Sangat Singh stood at the
top of the Garhi and fooled the
Mughals into thinking that it was
Guru Sahib.

9. Battle of Chamkaur
3 important things to learn here
1. Guru Sahib treated his sons and his Sikhs equally and didn’t show any
partiality
2. Guru Sahib obeyed the orders of the Panj Pyare
3. The waddey Sahibzadey, stood to their Sikhi values and fought with bravery
along with the other Sikhs

10. Sarsa to Sirhind
● After separating from the Guru Sahib, Mata
Gujri ji along with the chotey Sahibzadey went
towards Saheri
● Kammu Mashki, a fisherman was Guru’s Sikh
and helped Mata ji by letting them stay at his
home and did their sewa
● From there they went towards Sirhind and
stayed at Gangu’s house. Gangu was Guru
Sahib’s laangri

11. Sarsa to Sirhind - Continued
● Gangu got greedy after looking at Mata Ji’s
jewelry and knowing that they were vulnerable
● He stole Mata ji’s stuff and got Mata ji and
chotey Sahibzadey arrested by complaining to
the Mughal officers

12. Mata Gujri ji and the chottey sahibzadey were logged
in the thanda Burj
Imagine being out in the open in the cold weather of
December with nothing to comfort from the cold
Mata ji reminded the chottey Sahibzadey of their
legacy and history and asked them to be strong like
their forefathers
Moti Mehra got warm milk for them to comfort Mata ji
and Sahibzadey. His whole family was crushed to
death for being kind to Mata ji and Sahibzadey
Sirhind

13. Chottey Sahibzadey were bullied by Wazir Khan
and were given threats of torture and execution.
They were given a lot offers to leave their Sikhi
and become Muslims and enjoy life.
The Sahibzadey stood with their faith and even at
this young age, didn’t leave their Sikhi
They were bricked alive on Wazir Khan’s orders
and later their throats were slit

14. Conclusion
Sadhsangat ji, let’s learn from the lives of Sahibzadey.
It’s because of the sacrifices of Sikhs, Sahibzadey and Guru Sahib that we are
here today. Sikhs are known and respected all over the world today. And that’s
only because our forefathers didn’t leave their Sikhi and stood for their faith.
That’s the only way our celebrating these days will be successful.
