Thesis Statement For Internet Addiction
Internet Addiction
I.Speech Overview:
A.General Goal: To inform.
B.Specific Goal: By the end of speech, my audience will understand what Internet Addiction is, how many people are affected, and the symptoms.
II.Introduction:
A.Attention Grabber: Is Internet Addiction a new mental health disorder?
B.Relevance Statement: Most teens nowadays use the Internet; the usage varies according to each person, but I know that everyone in here is familiar
with it.
C.Credibility Statement: You should care about this matter because it is good to be aware of things that may affect you. As someone who is online on
daily basis, I can accurately describe Internet Addiction. I did around {blank}hours of research for this topic.
D.Central Idea:...show more content...
1.According to Anson Alexander who has a Bachelor of Science in international business and information systems, an infographic that provides
statistics related to Internet addiction was published in 2012 and1 out of every 8 Americans experiences signs of internet addiction. The infographic
found that in a small study, 82% of people were found to spend more time online than expected (Alexander, B.Sc.).
2.In 2015, a survey by the Bureau of Labor, calculated what everyone 15 and older does on a regular basis. On an average day, more than half of
them spent around 3 hours watching TV. Individuals age 75 and over spent more of their time watching TV, reading, and relaxing than individuals ages
15 to 19. Americans spend over an hour more per day online than doing other activities ("American Time Use Survey").
Transition 3: Now that I have informed you about how many people are affected, I will tell you about some of the indications.
C.People who are frequent users of technology, aren't mindful of possible symptoms that can hint that they could be addicted.
1.Meeting the any of the five symptoms which include always thinking about what your missing online, feeling uneasy when you offline, lying to
family and friends to hide how much time you spend on the Internet, lacking control on how much time you spend on the Internet, putting your
relationships and education on hold to spend more time online, and going online to escape reality and problems, could be signs

Writing is way that we can express ourselves, it is a way to interface ideas and thoughts and to prove a point. Throughout my writing experience or
process I have struggled with writing especially using details or really expressing myself my work. In this course Facts & Fiction: Portraits in World
Art I expect to gain more knowledge on how to write a perfect essay, story, letter, and assignment. I expect to learn new genres and rhetorical
situations. I also think my writing will improve academically and I will develop my skills in writing. Also taking my writing to a different point of
view, level, and writing something different rather than the usual. I look forward to getting feedback from my peers and learning their thoughts on my
writing and how they can help me improve.
Reading and writing were two things my parents use to always push me to improve and work on more often. They always told me they are the
essentials of everything thing. Even though I disliked both at a young age as I grew older I preferred writing because I can always change the
way I write and write from my point of view, really be creative with it and prove my point. Growing up I always loved writing short stories
especially scary stories. I always was creative with them and even made them realistic. To write an essay I usually have a couple of steps writing an
outline, and the thesis a draft and finally a final draft. The most difficult part about this is writing the thesis because the whole essay revolves the
thesis because it summarizes the whole essay. At the end of some essays, I had to use citations to do that there were many websites that helped me
cite sources such as easybib which was a really simple process. So, citing sources was one of the easiest things about writing the essay.
Writing to a teacher is way more complex then writing to a fried or a family member. Writing to a teacher is way more complex, I must make sure
that everything is on point or it reaches the state of protection. Which is having the right format, a great thesis and really conveying the point of the
essay. Writing to a friend or a family member is much easier I usually don't focus on grammatic errors or writing a perfect thesis. Today some of us don't

The Cat In The Hat Analysis
The Cat in the Hat is a good book for many reasons including how well illustrated and how well written the book is. Dr. Seuss has been known as a
genius when it comes to children's books. He is very well known and that is one of the reasons why I chose The Cat in the Hat. The Cat in the Hat
is about a cat who tries to make two kids have fun on a rainy day while their mom is away. There is also a fish who is an antagonist of the story
because he is keeping the children from having fun by constantly reminding them that their mother would not like what was happening in her house.
The Cat in the Hat is a good book for many reasons. Our textbook uses two definitions for what a good book is. One of them being if the reader likes
the book,...show more content...
The illustrations in The Cat in the Hat really show the story and even if this book was a wordless picture book then children could understand
what is going on. I think that goes to show how much the illustrations really do enforce the text. On the very first page, Dr. Seuss establishes the
setting with a picture of a house and one can assume that is where the story takes place (Seuss 1). Dr. Seuss uses a lot of visual elements such as
lines to show movement and he only uses shades of blue and red to add color to his book. Something else that I found interesting was the fact that
he used the seam in the book as a corner in the house. On the first page, you see the house with a window on its side but no door which would
presumably be on the left side of the house where the stairs are. When you open to the second page, you see the children sitting at the window. On
pages five and six you finally see the door appear on a separate page than the window. If you close the book slightly you can imagine this is a 3–D
element to the book. I may be overthinking it but I think that if this was intentional then Dr. Seuss may have been smarter than people give him
credit for. The Cat in the Hat was published in 1957 during the Age of New Realism (Tunnell 51). The Cat in the Hat is coined for being introduced
as one of the first beginning reader picture books (Tunnell 51). This was a stable time for the publishing of children's books (Tunnell 55). Overall, I

Codependents Anonymous: Group Analysis
Group Description
Co–Dependents Anonymous, is a self–help group comprised of men and women whose common purpose is to develop healthy, loving relationships
with themselves and with others. The group meetings provide individuals with a platform to offer support to one another through conversations that
evoke self–discovery. Members of CoDA, reference the material from the meetings and apply it to their lives. Through that application, individuals
become honest with themselves about their histories and codependent behaviors. The meeting took place on Saturday April 9th from 8:00AM–9:00AM
at Crossroads for Women, located at 1632 East Flower Street in Phoenix, AZ 85016. Crossroads for Women is a rehabilitation center for women in

Her quiet demeanor provided members with little formal support, aside from incorporating the various component into the group meeting such as the
twelve steps, readings, and reflections. The facilitator seemed unaware of the method of assigning group roles. Due to the facilitator's lack of
providing a structured group process, the group members were allowed to take control of the conversation. At times, the group would have benefited
from her participation through addressing deviant behavior, the monopolizers, and redirecting the conversation when it got off topic. Additionally, the
facilitator reviewed the group guidelines at the beginning of the meeting at a rapid pace that did not accommodate for inquiries. Transference was
observed, based on the strong attachment the deviant member had to another participant. The deviant member's behavior indicated that she sought
attention and reassurance from another participant. She positioned her body directly next to the participant, frequently rested her head on the
participant's shoulder, and whispered to her throughout the

Children literature Interests and intrigues many critics and adults in various ways, one of the topics that contrast critics ideology is whether illustration
is literature on its own or not? Illustrated books were not appreciated throughout centuries it became widely accepted with quality and design were it
improved in a unique artistic way. There are three types of books, illustrated book which are pictures that intensify the book artistically without
including anything significant to the real story, secondly picture books; they include the same information where the words and images complement
each other. Lastly Picturebook as in one word, refer to books with image and words that are complementing one another without one or the other being

The positive critics perceive that children are sensitive to the visual image; they need to develop a critical eye to visualize images, so they are able to
evaluate the effective communication and recognizing effective illustration. Moreover, during the centuries quality of illustrated book began to change,
in the past traditional books were used, they were easy to be understood. It did not challenge a child's mind. As for now, creativity merged throughout
the years. As, things like postmodern picture book came about with features such as; Non linear ,intersexuality, word play, parody, transgression and
destabilization, these features help a child to brighten his/her imagination. Critics such as William Moebius says 'images cannot–and must not be
–looked at in isolation from surrounding text; images in children books always have context ,and a context ,and a sequence, and meaning is derived at
least in part from their positioning in the text overall and their interaction with the word'' (William Moebius). William is emphasizing here that images
for picture books have a context, sequence and meaning and words need pictures to support and entertain a child's mind. As, thrilling imagination tend
to drift off with happy, funny and exciting moment keeping their sprit high. By, having an illustrated book it is intended to capture a child's

Bass Fishing: A Lifestyle Essay
Some people consider bass fishing a sport, but for most fishermen it's a lifestyle. People have been bass fishing since the beginning of time for
different reasons. Bass fishing has evolved over the years from using a sapling and some string to the high tech rod and reel technology, as well as
sonar fish–finders. For modern day fisherman fishing is a lifestyle that may require a wealth of money depending on what kind of bass fishing
someone wants to do. People will less wealth just fish from the bank, but for the luckier individuals that are able to own a boat, fishing is easier, and
more fun. Since the beginning of time people have been using real worms for bait, but now with the advancement of technology you can use baits that

Sharp hooks are a necessity to every fisherman's tackle box, and can be used over unless the hook is lost, or broken.
`Fishing rods, for the most part, stayed the same for a long time. They were short, not more than a few feet long. Later the Romans made a jointed
rod. The jointed rod made fishing easier, because it had 2 parts that could be put together. It was also longer and sturdier then just one long stick,
because it could bend and possibly break causing the fisherman time, frustration, and money for a new rod. Around the 17th century a breakthrough in
bass fishing came about. "About this time some unknown angler attached a wire loop or ring at the tip end of the rod, which allowed a running line,
useful for both casting and playing a hooked fish. Barker in 1667 mentions a salmon–fishing line of 26 yards. What was obviously needed was a means
of taking up and holding such lengths and this led to the invention of the reel. In the 20th century, rods became shorter and lighter without sacrificing
strength. Split bamboo was largely replaced by fiber glass and finally by carbon fiber as rod material. After the 1930s the fixed–spool reel was taken up
in Europe and, after World War II, in North America and the rest of the world, creating a boom in spin casting. Nylon monofilament line was

Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art
Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives
them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border
this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to
the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent.
Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or
the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique
interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly
for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their
obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone
will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal:
notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people
want change. Such censorship is easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or racial notions.
But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as simple.
A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a
nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that
she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure,

Emotions Essay examples
Emotions No matter how hard you try, you cannot
control your emotions, only attempt to hide them.
Emotions influence every aspect of our lives, what we
do, what we say, and et cetera. All of our emotions,
from anger to insecurity, are influenced by several
factors, just as our lives are influenced by our
emotions (Gelinas, Emotions 35). First of all, it
causes problems when one does not trust himself, and
it shows up in many ways. Some people brag to call
attention to themselves, causing others to believe
that the egoistic person has a lot of self–respect.
Very often though, egotism can be an attempt to cover

Many factors influence anger. Most anger is
caused by a situation that makes one feel
uncomfortable (Licata 14). This uncomfortable feeling
could also be described as feeling threatened. Feeling
threatened could lead to angry feelings because a
threat can cause harm. Things that could make one feel
threatened include disapproval, betrayal, deprivation,
exploitation, manipulation, frustration, violence, and
humiliation (Gaylin 95). One has their own ways of
handling anger, most of which are unhealthy. Denial is
one way of handling anger by using self–deception. In
denial, one does not allow themselves to register a
feeling that is threatening in one way or another
(Gaylin 96). Bigotry is another way of handling anger.
"A person that is prone to anger must create an object
to be angry at. Therefore, the object of the anger is
not the cause of the bigot's pain, but the solution"
(Gaylin 114). Anger can sometimes turn into hate. Some
different terms for hate could be annoyance,
irritation, hostility, or maliciousness. Some of the
"symptoms" of hate include wanting to hurt, humiliate,
damage, destroy, threaten, and wanting to seek revenge
on someone. Some people try to justify their actions
by having the motive of wanting to destroy to rebuild
on a stronger foundation (Gelinas, Anger 12). There

Cultural Objects Example: Barbie
Cultural objects can practically be found anywhere. "A cultural object may be defined as shared significance embodied in form, [In other words] it
is a socially meaningful expression that is audible, visible, or tangible or that can be articulated" (SOURCE). Cultural objects tell stories, and those
stories could be interpreted in numerous different ways. The significances of cultural objects vary from individual to individual, as well as location
and time. So, a cultural object valued in the United States, could have a totally different meaning and representation in another country. Lastly, cultural
objects don't have to be physical objects. They can be; an idea, songs, believes, videos, styles, pretty much anything as long as they could tell a story.
With that being said, the meaning doesn't have to be built into the actual object itself, but the representation of the object should be open for
interpretation. After defining and clarifying what a cultural object is, I think Barbie could definitely be seen as a cultural object. To begin with, just
the word Barbie could have distinctive meanings when mentioned in different countries. For example, you could say the word Barbie in a sentence,
and here in the United States individuals would associate it with the upbeat, fun, blonde doll that millions of little girls currently own and play with. If
you were to say it in China, Thailand, Indonesia, or other Far Eastern countries where Barbie dolls are manufactured and

Children's Behavior
What may affect childrens behaviour
Separation from the childs main carer can affect the childs behaviour a lot if they find it hard to separate from them. If a child cries it is obvious they
find it hard to cope with this, trying to distract the child may help the child to forget about the problem and start to enjoy themselves. The childrens
developmental stage includes how they see themselves and how they are with other children. If the child finds it hard to share with another child as
they may be an only child and never had to come across sharing before hand, it will be hard for them to understand this. Some of factors for

This is all due to a change of routine. Children especially with autism find it very hard to cope with a change, so it is important to let the child know
with or with out a disability children still find it hard to cope with changes. It is also going to affect the childs self–esteem if they're very upset and not
wanting to communicate with anyone new, they will become very emotional through out the day. From this they become bored and this is when you
mainly recognise a change to the childs behaviour, they might start to misbehave to get attention from staff, they may hurt children or may even
harm themselves. And also if the child faces the loss and grief of a family member the childs behaviour may change again, as they may see it as their
fault, or may wish they had done more when the person was alive. So it is a very hard time for children when they have to cope with a change.
What is behaviour =================
The younger the child is, the less they understand about behaviour, so when they reach the age of about 4 it is important for their main role leader to
start telling them about why we do the things we do. If a child misbehaves and the CW tells them to stop doing it, and if he/she catches them again
they will have a timeout. So if the child does this again it is important for the CW

Women in Art Essay
Women in Art
Throughout history many artistic works have been deemed "great" and many individuals have been labeled "masters" of the discipline. The question
of who creates art and how is it to be classified as great or greater than another has commonly been addressed by scholars and historians. The last
quarter of the 20th century has reexamined these questions based on the assertions that no women artists have ever created or been appreciated to the
level of "greatness" that perpetually befalls their male counterparts. The position that society has institutionalized on women as unable to be anything
but subordinate and unexpressive is a major contributor to this claim. Giving a brief history of gender discrimination in the art...show more content...
According to the Guerrilla Girls, art museums average 15% women in curated exhibits, and minority women only .003%. On top of that, only 4% of
museum acquisitions are of work by women artists (Strawter).
The study of why women artists have systematically been erased from history and why currently the exhibition of women's art is not valued as much as
the male artists' continues. There have been many theories behind the eradication of women artists from history. At the beginning of the Women's
Liberation Movement, an art historian by the name of Linda Nochlin published an article called, "Why have there been no great women artists?" In
here article, she addressed her own question offering one of the first consciously feminist challenges to the established canons of art history. Her query
proved to be a rallying cry for women artists in the fervent days of the Women's Liberation movement and offered fragments of a manifesto to women
artists, and others, intent on reexamining and ultimately restructuring the discipline (Morse, 1992). Nochlin argues that contemporary feminists
contend that there is a different "greatness" between men's art and women's art. This view of art undermines the general discipline. It categorizes its
value in order to give it a higher classification among gender. Many women are trying to delve back into history and recapture any trace of artistic
women in order to document and arrange their

Rudeness Essay
Have you ever been in a situation where you wondered why people are so rude and why does it seem like being rude is accepted? I encounter a rude
person at least 1–2 times a day. Growing up with a family that teaches respect, I would've thought that everyone was the same, but as I got older I
realized most of these people were not raised with knowing how to respect people. I agree that rudeness is on the rise. More importantly because of
what I grew up knowing and what I saw is a big difference to how it is now without generation. There is a mass of different ways to show rudeness to
other people. One main thing that's happening that shows rudeness is on the rise is children being disrespectful to their parents....show more content...
People will bump you without saying excuse me. You can hold the door for someone and they will look at you without saying thank you. I know
there are some people that do not say thank you just because people are not saying thank you to them. That is not a reason to be rude to others just
because someone was rude to you. 2 wrongs don't make a right. On the other hand, there are others who were just born rude. They say anything they
want to others without thinking. There facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice contribute to this. These are the people who are really
negative in life. I don't see how people can just say whatever out their mouth without even thinking of how others would take it or how it would make
them feel. When people are being rude they are revealing who they are as a person in life. They are weak–minded. This shows how little their minds
are and how they are working because only know how to be rude and disrespectful. People who always say, "They don't care", "I only care about
myself", "Nobody's feelings matter to me", and "It doesn't concern me" are the people who fit in this kind of category typically because that's their
mindset and how they think. You really need to think about others and the way you speak to them More alone, talking over people has become
something that I've seen a lot of people do. I know that sometimes people will interrupt you when you are talking, but doing it every time

Essay about Digital Art Technology
Digital Art Technology
Technology is constantly growing and changing our ways of living. It makes life easier at times, and more interesting too. When one would think of
art in the past, usually computers and technology did not come to mind. Now because of modern technology, the digital age is uncovering vast ways
to create amazing works of art through computer tools and software. Art is now digitally created and can appear unbelievable to the modern eye.
Digital art technology is in some ways, a form of art that can be constructed on a computer based template and still portray an artistГ‱s rendition but in a
mechanical manner. Г’As early as 1912, the futurists planned moving sculptures driven by machine, in which the...show more content...

Classical art is obviously the most widespread acceptable form of art. Acceptable meaning known; People around the world could tell you theyГ‱ve
heard of Michelangelo or Picasso. Classical art and digital art have certain similarities, but far more differences. Both forms of art begin with the
artistГ‱s view of an idea or concept. They both have creative attributes and qualities that are controlled by the artist and viewed by an audience.
Evidently, there is different media used in each form. Where classical artist may use a paintbrush and a canvas to create a painting, a digital artist
would use software like Photoshop though a computer to create an image. However now, artists can even imitate media like watercolor, charcoal,
markers, and even oil pastels with certain software digitally.
There are two kinds of computer based art that uses the computer as a tool for creating the work. The two kinds are computer–assisted art and
computer–created art. Г’In computer–assisted art, an application like a paintbox or music program is used in creation of a work. Computer–created art
begins with an algorithm written by the artist, which when run, produces a work, usually with some element of randomness involved so that

Commitment is My Greatest Quality Essay
Commitment is more than a promise to do or give something. It is the state or quality of being dedicated and maintaining an attitude of someone who
works extremely hard to do or support something. Commitment not only requires full attention, but also requires diversity. A person who processes the
quality of commitment should be very responsible and well–rounded. I believe I am a person who represents this unique quality by processing
patriotism, willingness to place service above self, ability to set goals and achieve them, friendliness and helpfulness, diverse interests, strong work ethic

Not only have I grown a respect for my peers, but also for my coworkers. Diversity is the state of being diverse or having variety despite any

enjoy sports, participating in musicals, volunteering at Lancaster General Hospital, and learning instruments. I have been active in my school's track
and field and field hockey team. In addition, I play guitar and piano for my own personal enjoyment and have participated in many of my school's
musicals. Despite my different interests, I maintain a strong work ethic in school by maintaining a 3.7 cumulative GPA which places me on superior

Confidence and leadership reveals everything about an individual's unique personality. Whether demonstrated in sports or everyday life, leadership is
extremely valuable in the sense of working well with others. I have learned to develop this trait in sports, work, and school. I have especially
demonstrated this trait during my junior year by participating in York County's Distinguished Young Women's Program. Not only did this allow me to
develop a relationship with strangers, but also allowed me to explore outside of my comfort zone and project myself to a higher degree than

The Cave: The Allegory Of The Cave
The "Cave" was told as an allegory, a story that is compared to something similar, but unstated. The "Cave" represents people who think knowledge
comes from experience in the world. This is known as empirical evidence. In the cave believers of this type of evidence believe that they are trapped
in some type of cave. This cave that they are trapped in this cave of misunderstanding. The shadows are seen as those who believe in this type of

Essay on Secularization
Secularization
The word secularization is derived from the Latin word saeculum(world) it was first used to refer the transfer of property from the church to the civil
princes. Now it denotes the process by which religion loses some or all of its power, dominance and authority. Secularization as a concept refers to the
actual historical process whereby this dualist system “ this world'; and the sacramental structures of mediation between this world and the other

Differentiation and secularization of society
To view modern historical transformation from the perspective of secularization means to view reality from the perspective of religion since the

Protestant Reformation, formation of modern states, growth of modern capitalism and the early modern scientific revolution. Each of the four

on how Frankenstein fits into two different traditions of novel writing, the realistic novel and the Gothic novel.
Levine's main argument is that although Frankenstein is a gothic novel, it is not a typical gothic novel with many realistic ideas. It aims to generate
terror in the reader like other gothic novels but does not involve the supernatural. The events that Mary Shelley writes out in Frankenstein are not far
from ordinary and the commonplace. Levine's more interesting argument is that Mary Shelley's use of the Gothic tradition allows her to dip in the
imaginative and subjective inner truths that a realistic novel would not allow. For example how the characters reflect or double each other. Also most
of the characters represent aspects of Victor Frankenstein

Thesis Statement For Internet Addiction

  • 1. Thesis Statement For Internet Addiction Internet Addiction I.Speech Overview: A.General Goal: To inform. B.Specific Goal: By the end of speech, my audience will understand what Internet Addiction is, how many people are affected, and the symptoms. II.Introduction: A.Attention Grabber: Is Internet Addiction a new mental health disorder? B.Relevance Statement: Most teens nowadays use the Internet; the usage varies according to each person, but I know that everyone in here is familiar with it. C.Credibility Statement: You should care about this matter because it is good to be aware of things that may affect you. As someone who is online on daily basis, I can accurately describe Internet Addiction. I did around {blank}hours of research for this topic. D.Central Idea:...show more content... 1.According to Anson Alexander who has a Bachelor of Science in international business and information systems, an infographic that provides statistics related to Internet addiction was published in 2012 and1 out of every 8 Americans experiences signs of internet addiction. The infographic found that in a small study, 82% of people were found to spend more time online than expected (Alexander, B.Sc.). 2.In 2015, a survey by the Bureau of Labor, calculated what everyone 15 and older does on a regular basis. On an average day, more than half of them spent around 3 hours watching TV. Individuals age 75 and over spent more of their time watching TV, reading, and relaxing than individuals ages 15 to 19. 1.Meeting the any of the five symptoms which include always thinking about what your missing online, feeling uneasy when you offline, lying to family and friends to hide how much time you spend on the Internet, lacking control on how much time you spend on the Internet, putting your relationships and education on hold to spend more time online, and going online to escape reality and problems, could be signs Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Writing is way that we can express ourselves, it is a way to interface ideas and thoughts and to prove a point. Throughout my writing experience or process I have struggled with writing especially using details or really expressing myself my work. In this course Facts & Fiction: Portraits in World Art I expect to gain more knowledge on how to write a perfect essay, story, letter, and assignment. I expect to learn new genres and rhetorical situations. I also think my writing will improve academically and I will develop my skills in writing. Also taking my writing to a different point of view, level, and writing something different rather than the usual. I look forward to getting feedback from my peers and learning their thoughts on my writing and how they can help me improve. Reading and writing were two things my parents use to always push me to improve and work on more often. They always told me they are the essentials of everything thing. Even though I disliked both at a young age as I grew older I preferred writing because I can always change the way I write and write from my point of view, really be creative with it and prove my point. Growing up I always loved writing short stories especially scary stories. I always was creative with them and even made them realistic. To write an essay I usually have a couple of steps writing an outline, and the thesis a draft and finally a final draft. The most difficult part about this is writing the thesis because the whole essay revolves the thesis because it summarizes the whole essay. At the end of some essays, I had to use citations to do that there were many websites that helped me cite sources such as easybib which was a really simple process. So, citing sources was one of the easiest things about writing the essay. Writing to a teacher is way more complex then writing to a fried or a family member. Writing to a teacher is way more complex, I must make sure that everything is on point or it reaches the state of protection. Which is having the right format, a great thesis and really conveying the point of the essay. Writing to a friend or a family member is much easier I usually don't focus on grammatic errors or writing a perfect thesis. Today some of us don't Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Cat In The Hat Analysis The Cat in the Hat is a good book for many reasons including how well illustrated and how well written the book is. Dr. Seuss has been known as a genius when it comes to children's books. He is very well known and that is one of the reasons why I chose The Cat in the Hat. The Cat in the Hat is about a cat who tries to make two kids have fun on a rainy day while their mom is away. There is also a fish who is an antagonist of the story because he is keeping the children from having fun by constantly reminding them that their mother would not like what was happening in her house. The Cat in the Hat is a good book for many reasons. Our textbook uses two definitions for what a good book is. One of them being if the reader likes the book,...show more content... The illustrations in The Cat in the Hat really show the story and even if this book was a wordless picture book then children could understand what is going on. I think that goes to show how much the illustrations really do enforce the text. On the very first page, Dr. Seuss establishes the setting with a picture of a house and one can assume that is where the story takes place (Seuss 1). Dr. Seuss uses a lot of visual elements such as lines to show movement and he only uses shades of blue and red to add color to his book. Something else that I found interesting was the fact that he used the seam in the book as a corner in the house. On the first page, you see the house with a window on its side but no door which would presumably be on the left side of the house where the stairs are. When you open to the second page, you see the children sitting at the window. On pages five and six you finally see the door appear on a separate page than the window. If you close the book slightly you can imagine this is a 3–D element to the book. I may be overthinking it but I think that if this was intentional then Dr. Seuss may have been smarter than people give him credit for. The Cat in the Hat was published in 1957 during the Age of New Realism (Tunnell 51). The Cat in the Hat is coined for being introduced as one of the first beginning reader picture books (Tunnell 51). This was a stable time for the publishing of children's books (Tunnell 55). Overall, I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Codependents Anonymous: Group Analysis Group Description Co–Dependents Anonymous, is a self–help group comprised of men and women whose common purpose is to develop healthy, loving relationships with themselves and with others. The group meetings provide individuals with a platform to offer support to one another through conversations that evoke self–discovery. Members of CoDA, reference the material from the meetings and apply it to their lives. Through that application, individuals become honest with themselves about their histories and codependent behaviors. The meeting took place on Saturday April 9th from 8:00AM–9:00AM at Crossroads for Women, located at 1632 East Flower Street in Phoenix, AZ 85016. Crossroads for Women is a rehabilitation center for women in recovery...show more content... Her quiet demeanor provided members with little formal support, aside from incorporating the various component into the group meeting such as the twelve steps, readings, and reflections. The facilitator seemed unaware of the method of assigning group roles. Due to the facilitator's lack of providing a structured group process, the group members were allowed to take control of the conversation. At times, the group would have benefited from her participation through addressing deviant behavior, the monopolizers, and redirecting the conversation when it got off topic. Additionally, the facilitator reviewed the group guidelines at the beginning of the meeting at a rapid pace that did not accommodate for inquiries. Transference was observed, based on the strong attachment the deviant member had to another participant. The deviant member's behavior indicated that she sought attention and reassurance from another participant. She positioned her body directly next to the participant, frequently rested her head on the participant's shoulder, and whispered to her throughout the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Children literature Interests and intrigues many critics and adults in various ways, one of the topics that contrast critics ideology is whether illustration is literature on its own or not? Illustrated books were not appreciated throughout centuries it became widely accepted with quality and design were it improved in a unique artistic way. There are three types of books, illustrated book which are pictures that intensify the book artistically without including anything significant to the real story, secondly picture books; they include the same information where the words and images complement each other. Lastly Picturebook as in one word, refer to books with image and words that are complementing one another without one or the other being ...show more content... The positive critics perceive that children are sensitive to the visual image; they need to develop a critical eye to visualize images, so they are able to evaluate the effective communication and recognizing effective illustration. Moreover, during the centuries quality of illustrated book began to change, in the past traditional books were used, they were easy to be understood. It did not challenge a child's mind. As for now, creativity merged throughout the years. As, things like postmodern picture book came about with features such as; Non linear ,intersexuality, word play, parody, transgression and destabilization, these features help a child to brighten his/her imagination. Critics such as William Moebius says 'images cannot–and must not be –looked at in isolation from surrounding text; images in children books always have context ,and a context ,and a sequence, and meaning is derived at least in part from their positioning in the text overall and their interaction with the word'' (William Moebius). William is emphasizing here that images for picture books have a context, sequence and meaning and words need pictures to support and entertain a child's mind. As, thrilling imagination tend to drift off with happy, funny and exciting moment keeping their sprit high. • 6. Bass Fishing: A Lifestyle Essay Some people consider bass fishing a sport, but for most fishermen it's a lifestyle. People have been bass fishing since the beginning of time for different reasons. Bass fishing has evolved over the years from using a sapling and some string to the high tech rod and reel technology, as well as sonar fish–finders. For modern day fisherman fishing is a lifestyle that may require a wealth of money depending on what kind of bass fishing someone wants to do. People will less wealth just fish from the bank, but for the luckier individuals that are able to own a boat, fishing is easier, and more fun. Since the beginning of time people have been using real worms for bait, but now with the advancement of technology you can use baits that have a...show more content... Sharp hooks are a necessity to every fisherman's tackle box, and can be used over unless the hook is lost, or broken. `Fishing rods, for the most part, stayed the same for a long time. They were short, not more than a few feet long. Later the Romans made a jointed rod. The jointed rod made fishing easier, because it had 2 parts that could be put together. It was also longer and sturdier then just one long stick, because it could bend and possibly break causing the fisherman time, frustration, and money for a new rod. Around the 17th century a breakthrough in bass fishing came about. "About this time some unknown angler attached a wire loop or ring at the tip end of the rod, which allowed a running line, useful for both casting and playing a hooked fish. Barker in 1667 mentions a salmon–fishing line of 26 yards. What was obviously needed was a means of taking up and holding such lengths and this led to the invention of the reel. In the 20th century, rods became shorter and lighter without sacrificing strength. Split bamboo was largely replaced by fiber glass and finally by carbon fiber as rod material. After the 1930s the fixed–spool reel was taken up in Europe and, after World War II, in North America and the rest of the world, creating a boom in spin casting. • 7. Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent. Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Emotions influence every aspect of our lives, what we do, what we say, and et cetera. All of our emotions, from anger to insecurity, are influenced by several factors, just as our lives are influenced by our emotions (Gelinas, Emotions 35). First of all, it causes problems when one does not trust himself, and it shows up in many ways. Some people brag to call attention to themselves, causing others to believe that the egoistic person has a lot of self–respect. Very often though, egotism can be an attempt to cover up insecurity in a person who does not feel they will

This uncomfortable feeling could also be described as feeling threatened. Feeling threatened could lead to angry feelings because a threat can cause harm. Things that could make one feel threatened include disapproval, betrayal, deprivation, exploitation, manipulation, frustration, violence, and humiliation (Gaylin 95). One has their own ways of handling anger, most of which are unhealthy. Denial is one way of handling anger by using self–deception. In denial, one does not allow themselves to register a feeling that is threatening in one way or another (Gaylin 96). Bigotry is another way of handling anger. "A person that is prone to anger must create an object to be angry at. Therefore, the object of the anger is not the cause of the bigot's pain, but the solution"

Some of the "symptoms" of hate include wanting to hurt, humiliate, damage, destroy, threaten, and wanting to seek revenge on someone. Some people try to justify their actions by having the motive of wanting to destroy to rebuild on a stronger foundation (Gelinas, Anger 12). There are five Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Cultural Objects Example: Barbie Cultural objects can practically be found anywhere. "A cultural object may be defined as shared significance embodied in form, [In other words] it is a socially meaningful expression that is audible, visible, or tangible or that can be articulated" (SOURCE). Cultural objects tell stories, and those stories could be interpreted in numerous different ways. The significances of cultural objects vary from individual to individual, as well as location and time. So, a cultural object valued in the United States, could have a totally different meaning and representation in another country. Lastly, cultural objects don't have to be physical objects. They can be; an idea, songs, believes, videos, styles, pretty much anything as long as they could tell a story. With that being said, the meaning doesn't have to be built into the actual object itself, but the representation of the object should be open for interpretation. After defining and clarifying what a cultural object is, I think Barbie could definitely be seen as a cultural object. To begin with, just the word Barbie could have distinctive meanings when mentioned in different countries. For example, you could say the word Barbie in a sentence, and here in the United States individuals would associate it with the upbeat, fun, blonde doll that millions of little girls currently own and play with. If you were to say it in China, Thailand, Indonesia, or other Far Eastern countries where Barbie dolls are manufactured and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Children's Behavior Essay Children's Behavior What may affect childrens behaviour Separation from the childs main carer can affect the childs behaviour a lot if they find it hard to separate from them. If a child cries it is obvious they find it hard to cope with this, trying to distract the child may help the child to forget about the problem and start to enjoy themselves. The childrens developmental stage includes how they see themselves and how they are with other children. If the child finds it hard to share with another child as they may be an only child and never had to come across sharing before hand, it will be hard for them to understand this. From this they become bored and this is when you mainly recognise a change to the childs behaviour, they might start to misbehave to get attention from staff, they may hurt children or may even harm themselves. And also if the child faces the loss and grief of a family member the childs behaviour may change again, as they may see it as their fault, or may wish they had done more when the person was alive. So it is a very hard time for children when they have to cope with a change. What is behaviour ================= The younger the child is, the less they understand about behaviour, so when they reach the age of about 4 it is important for their main role leader to start telling them about why we do the things we do. • 14. Women in Art Essay Women in Art Throughout history many artistic works have been deemed "great" and many individuals have been labeled "masters" of the discipline. The question of who creates art and how is it to be classified as great or greater than another has commonly been addressed by scholars and historians. The last quarter of the 20th century has reexamined these questions based on the assertions that no women artists have ever created or been appreciated to the level of "greatness" that perpetually befalls their male counterparts. The position that society has institutionalized on women as unable to be anything but subordinate and unexpressive is a major contributor to this claim. On top of that, only 4% of museum acquisitions are of work by women artists (Strawter). The study of why women artists have systematically been erased from history and why currently the exhibition of women's art is not valued as much as the male artists' continues. There have been many theories behind the eradication of women artists from history. At the beginning of the Women's Liberation Movement, an art historian by the name of Linda Nochlin published an article called, "Why have there been no great women artists?" In here article, she addressed her own question offering one of the first consciously feminist challenges to the established canons of art history. Her query proved to be a rallying cry for women artists in the fervent days of the Women's Liberation movement and offered fragments of a manifesto to women artists, and others, intent on reexamining and ultimately restructuring the discipline (Morse, 1992). Nochlin argues that contemporary feminists contend that there is a different "greatness" between men's art and women's art. This view of art undermines the general discipline. It categorizes its value in order to give it a higher classification among gender. I agree that rudeness is on the rise. More importantly because of what I grew up knowing and what I saw is a big difference to how it is now without generation. You can hold the door for someone and they will look at you without saying thank you. I know there are some people that do not say thank you just because people are not saying thank you to them. That is not a reason to be rude to others just because someone was rude to you. 2 wrongs don't make a right. On the other hand, there are others who were just born rude. They say anything they want to others without thinking. There facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice contribute to this. These are the people who are really negative in life. I don't see how people can just say whatever out their mouth without even thinking of how others would take it or how it would make them feel. When people are being rude they are revealing who they are as a person in life. They are weak–minded. This shows how little their minds are and how they are working because only know how to be rude and disrespectful. People who always say, "They don't care", "I only care about myself", "Nobody's feelings matter to me", and "It doesn't concern me" are the people who fit in this kind of category typically because that's their mindset and how they think. Whether demonstrated in sports or everyday life, leadership is extremely valuable in the sense of working well with others. I have learned to develop this trait in sports, work, and school. In the cave believers of this type of evidence believe that they are trapped in some type of cave. This cave that they are trapped in this cave of misunderstanding. • 22. The essay written by George Levine " Frankenstein and the Tradition of Realism" is published in a scholarly journal called Novel: A Forum on Fiction in 1973. As from what we can assume from the title is that the journal focuses exclusively on novels that are a work of fiction. It does not deal with poetry or even short stories. It is most likely that the audience are those who focus their research interests on the novel form. Levine's essay focuses on how Frankenstein fits into two different traditions of novel writing, the realistic novel and the Gothic novel. Levine's main argument is that although Frankenstein is a gothic novel, it is not a typical gothic novel with many realistic ideas. It aims to generate terror in the reader like other gothic novels but does not involve the supernatural. The events that Mary Shelley writes out in Frankenstein are not far from ordinary and the commonplace. Levine's more interesting argument is that Mary Shelley's use of the Gothic tradition allows her to dip in the imaginative and subjective inner truths that a realistic novel would not allow. For example how the characters reflect or double each other. Also most of the characters represent aspects of Victor Frankenstein Stone 2 in some way.
