sea of influential ideas and concepts not necessarily intended for their eyes and ears. Character education is a concept that calls for teachers and

I knew that in order to be starting, I needed to be the hardest worker on the team. With all my hard work came a starting position. The biggest
lesson that my father taught me was in seventh grade. It was a normal day of basketball practice and we were scrimmaging. During a particular

this theory. He claims that today, Christians are simply a shadow of their future selves on earth; Christ has more in store for us after the tribulation. In
Revelation, God describes the new heaven and new earth as him bringing heaven down to earth. Wright emphasizes that, due to the previous reasons
mentioned, the only way someone is truly human is in Christ when they go to the new heaven on earth. Everyone in the spiritual realm will return to

Unlike most of her friends during Christmas break who were fixated on what they were going to find under the Christmas tree, my niece was fixated
on raising funds to support the efforts of the International Justice Mission to help end modern day slavery. This level of service–oriented, compassion
driven character in her required me providing her with opportunities and support to serve her community through various endeavors she is passionate
about. Often times parents become fixated on reprimanding the negative behaviors their children exhibit instead of noticing, praising and further,
reinforcing the positive behaviors they practiced. For example, I may get heated when I discover my niece has performed a certain behavior I condone;
however, there have been times when she has done a positive behavior and it goes undetected because it did not require me reprimanding her. She has
had to bring it to my attention at times that I have overlooked something positive that she has done. When this happens, I apologize for my oversight
and praise her for exemplifying positive characteristics independently. As I reflect on this experience, it is essential for parents to take notice and

I read five articles on character education. These articles helped me to better understand the importance of character education and useful techniques
and methods to teach children values and morals. The first article I read was Champions of a cause by Dick Riley. This article states that character
education dates back to the time that the puritans came over to the new world and thought everyone should be reading the bible. They believed that that
this would teach good values. The author believes that morals and ethics should continue to be important goals that are taught to children in schools.

work cooperatively in a group. Also, another important suggestion is that the staff that is teaching the character education program must remember to
show the same core values that they are teaching the children to adhere to. The last article I read was Community of caring: A character education
program designed to integrate values into a school community by Stephen C. Jones and Janice Stoodley. Community of caring is a character education
program in the school that includes the parents and the community in the teaching of values to the youth. Students discuss and practice the values of
caring, respect, responsibility, trust and family. At the same time, teachers, school workers, parents and community leaders are modeling the same
values. The goal of the program is to let the students figure out for themselves how these values affect behavior and life choices. I think the aspect of
this article that is different and important is that it recognizes the responsibility of being a member of a family. A good thing about this program is
there is a plan of attack in launching the program in schools.

So there I was sitting on the front steps of my house with my head in my hands. Tear after tear rolling off my face into a puddle in my hands. Now
realizing that everyone could see me, I went inside to meet my mom sitting at the table just inside. I turn my head the other way, trying to hide my

continue on and let this just happen to me, I continue. People's character is something that is often questioned. Kids are not getting the kind of
guidance at home that they need, they do not know right from wrong. This issue is something that needs to be addressed more in schools. Our society
may be growing in technology, but our society will not be able to continue to grow successfully if the children nowadays are not growing up respectful.
The young children will not have the ability to be successful. Although character education is important and is positive, but it would not be beneficial to
have a lesson in every class, every day.
Starting the character education young would be very beneficial, that way kids are exposed young. The education would
