Market forecast remains unchanged
Growth is slowing down in the major European markets. This could be seen in
Pandox’ forecast for 200 presented at the Hotel Market Day last November.
After presenting our analysis, several people contacted me expressing scepti-
cism and that market trends would be better than our forecast. If we had made
the same market analysis today, the forecast would have been distinctly more
prudent. Indeed, we should have emphasised more strongly that the risk on the
downside had further increased. There is therefore all reason to take seriously
the signals of a weaker market.
