I have a visionof a home that isfilledwithlaughter,peace,joy,hope,acceptance,andhealing that
comesfromthe inside out.
WhenI was eighteenyearsoldIfoundmyself aloneandpregnantwithtwinboys. Thisisfarmore
commontoday thanit wasthirtyyearsago, but I can’t imagine itisanyeasier.Iunderstandthatmodern
thinkingcausesustobelieve thatwe cando all thingsanddo themwell.Sadlythe fearandloneliness of
single parentingare still therewe justtryto pushitdownso we don’tappearweak. My testimonyisfull
of one badchoice afteranotherjustlookingforthat one thingthat couldmake me whole.Myjourney
tookme to some verydarkplacesand broke me inparts I didn’t evenknow couldbreak.“ButGod!” is
my favorite statement.WhenIgotto the endof me and criedout,He movedmountainstorescue me.
Jesuscame to give life,notjustlife but“lifemore abundant”,andHe has.I have hope! Mercy and grace
have beenpouredoutonme andI am a new creation.
WhenGod setin motionmyrescue,He tookme and mysonsto a place awayfrom whatand whowe
knewandsurroundeduswithHispeople. AsIhealedphysicallyHe providedforall ourneedsandas I
experiencedJesuslove demonstratedinfrontof useveryhourGod changedmyheart. He isnow calling
me to have a place thatHe can bring otherwomenandchildrenthatneedtoknow Him. Thisis His
place,where womencome andshare theirgiftswithotherwomen.A home forthe ones thatneed
shelteranda familyforthe onesthatneed more.
His Place isa home where everyonethatlivesthereisafunctioningpartof a family. Some will needto
go to school and some will needtogetajob,and some will justneedtime toheal.The goal isto give
each ladythe opportunitytosee theyhave value andworthinthe eyesof Jesus andthat theymatter.
Togetherwe can change the statisticsof womenabusedandbroken,raisingthe nextgenerationalone.
