1) Maintenance of Vehicles and Machineries
and Other Activities (Funded by UNHCR)
- Supporting organization activities in the
Northern Region of Rakhine State
- 609 repair and maintenance cases
- 45,000 gallons of fuel filtered

warehouse for UNHCR relief supplies

Hpa-An Technical Training School Project
- Funded by The Nippon Foundation and BAJ Fund
- 641 of 772 graduates (83%) got opportunities to work
- Received high evaluations for facilities, education
contents, achievements of employment from various
NGOs, private companies, dignitaries from the
Myanmar government
10. Activities in Kayin State
Hpa-An Technical Training School Project
- Dispatch of Japanese experts (Technical training
from 5 specialists in 2019 for a total of 20
months)
- Saturday Special Lectures (For trainees between
18 to 35 years old to broaden perspectives as a
member of society)
- Employment Support and Survey (Help find
(Japanese and Myanmar) companies where
trainees can use their skills and knowledge)
- School Management (Handover of the project to
Education and Training Department at the Ministry
of Border Affairs)
11. Activities at Yangon Office
The Key to Myanmar Projects
- 5 offices across Myanmar for administrative and management support
- Regular meetings with counterparts such as Progress of Border Areas and National Races
Department (NATALA) and Education and Training Department (ETD)
- Holds training courses for 150 local staff in Myanmar
1) Book & Toy Project (Funded by Tokyo Toy Museum and BAJ)
- Donates books and toys in bookcases to elementary schools for
children living in remote regions
- Provided training programs to children, teachers and PTA to learn
importance of reading
2) Support for National Water Service Group (Funded by British
American Tobacco Myanmar Ltd., BAJ Water Fund and others)
- Wells in 6 villages in Mandalay Division were repaired with
donations from 3 companies in Shunko Konwa-kai
13. Activities in Vietnam
- BAJ founded “Shine! Children of Asia” Fund in 2001 to encourage children to attend school in
An Khanh Ward, a poor area in Ho Chi Minh City
- From 2011, BAJ moved activities to Hue City in Thua Thien Hue Province, in the middle of
Vietnam
Works with government and local residents to support poor farmers and students.
Helps people living in slum along the Hue Royal Palace of the Nguyen Dynasty
Provides free study classes and scholarships for children
Promotes cleaning of Huong River and waste separation activities
- “Project for Strengthening of Agriculture and Livestock Management for Small-Scale Farmers
in Hue City”
Expansion of Biogas Digester installations
After the project was completed in April 2019, BD utilization training was held and BDs were
handed over to farmers.
“Hue Farmers’ Store”, 1st store operated by the farmers group and 2nd store by BAJ
As opposed to letting methane gas release to the atmosphere, biogas digesters are
the systems that process waste into biogas, and then channel that biogas so that the
energy can be productively used.

1. Supporting Children
• Environmental Education Project (Funded by Canon, Kumon Kokusai Gakuen High School and
“Shine! Children of Asia” Fund)
• Educational Support Project (Funded by “Shine! Children of Asia” Fund)
2. Supporting Farmers
• Support Poor Farmers (Funded by JICA Grassroots, Personal Funds)
• Installation of BD and sales expansion of agricultural and livestock products
3. Ecotourism Project (Events for visiting farmers) (Funded by BAJ Funds)
- Constructed a rest house at Thuy Bieu farm for visitors and holding events and customers
16. 1. Furu Kuru (Used Clothes Recycling Project)
- Joint project with Nikko Bussan Co., Ltd., in 2011
- Recycles used clothes from donors across Japan

2. Monthly Support System
- “Shine! Children of Asia” Fund (donation of 2000 yen per
month to help children in Vietnam for education)
- “BAJ All-Round Supporter” program (donation of 1000 yen
per month for administrative expenses of Tokyo office and
emergency aid)
3. Donation of Used Items
- “HAPPY BOOK” and “Bookshelf Rescue Team” program
(people send used books, video games, CDs to designated
companies and profits of these items are donated to BAJ)
17. Public Relations
• Publishing information and updates (quarterly “BAJ
Newsletter”, yearly “Annual Report”, website, “BAJ Email
Magazine”)
• BAJ Café (volunteers help with mailing newsletters while
enjoying tea and sweets from Vietnam and Myanmar)
• Internship (interns participate, long term or short team, in
projects in Vietnam)
18. • Dispatching Experts (sent 10 experts for around 500 days to Hpa-An
Technical Training School in Myanmar)
• Mangrove Windbreak Tree-Planting Project in Ayeyarwaddy School
(Funded by Kao Heart Pocket Club, Kao Corporation)
- Plantation of tress as windbreaks in four villages in Pyapon,
Ayeyarwaddy Delta in Myanmar
- Discussed environmental issues and planted around 10,000 trees
Support for Overseas Project
19. “We Japanese cannot live our lives without other
countries. There are so many things you can do for
them. Simply sending used clothes is one way of
showing our support to the world as Japanese. I
would love to see more Japanese people becoming
interested in our activities and help us in any way
they can.”
