Over the past decade in UK and Nigeria , interests have been focused on founding and
advocating the following foundations/list of causes: World Citizens in Pain, Suffering,
4
Labour with Dignity, Peace and Freedom; World Children Creative and Personal
Development Fund; Institute for the advancement of Ebonyi Friendship and Hospitality,
Igboji Ola Idike Centre for Ancient and Modern History and Civilisation; Idike Igboji Ola
Centre for Governance and Citizenship; Institute of Paternal Fraternity, Institute of Maternal
Fraternity; Abakaliki - Ekumenyi and Afikpo - Edda Radio/TV/Web amongst others. Over
65% of career expression of will in UK (in retail and hospitality industries) and Nigeria have
been assigned to the realisation of these causes/foundations with the support of members of
families, friends, well wishers and all people of the world who share and cherish the dreams,
visions and mandates. These causes will be championed during the course of services to the
university, state, country and the world and shall continue after retirement till the legacy
moves on from generation to generation (world without end but with transformations). The
Board of Trustees of these foundations are: The Apostolate of Jesus Christ, The Apostolic
Palace, 00120, Vatican City.
As graduate researcher, Centre for Environment and Society/Department of Biological
Sciences, University of Essex, UK between October 2001 - October, 2006 was part of soil
health research group. The work centered on C fluxes and sequestration in grassland and
woodland ecosystems under various levels of land management using field, laboratory and
model approaches. The modeling accounted for 7 periods of English agriculture (8050 years
comprising the prehistoric, historic, agricultural revolution, post agricultural revolution, green
planet and post green planet. CENTURY 4.0 MODEL was chosen in view of ease of
configuration to diverse ecosystem.
Apart from the quantification of levels of greenhouse gases particularly CO2; their impact on
climatic change and their sink on ameliorating these conditions; other subject areas studied
included the nutrient dynamics of such ecosystem, particularly C and N, exploration of
enzyme activities (cellulose, urease, phosphomonoesterase) and the extraction, quantification
5
and qualification of soil humic acids using chemical methods and 13
C-NMR Spectroscopy.
Respiration as an index of microbial activities were measured in the field and laboratory with
auto analyser and chemical reagents respectively. These methods helped to account for
autotrophic and heterotrophic organisms roles in C-flux.
In the course of PhD studies at University of Essex, was invited to taught courses in the
Interdisciplinary Centre for Environment and Society that cut across the Departments of
Biological Sciences, Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, Economics, Essex
Business School, Government, School of Health and Human Sciences, School of law,
Literature, Film and Theatre studies and sociology. Courses cut across sustainable agriculture
and environment, eco-literacy, environmental law, environmental economics, environmental
politics, environmental governance, statistics for social science, sociology of human rights,
environmental health.
Permission was also given to attend first degree and masters courses in molecular methods in
ecology, environmental molecular microbiology, protein technology, plants, genes and
agriculture, environmental technology, research methods, marine environment, global energy
resources, global climatic change, biotechnology and genetic modification, ecology,
sociological approaches to science and technology, ground based remote sensing of weather,
conservation, water pollution biology, plant and soil response to elevated CO2, wastes and
pollution in pre-industrial society, bio treatable wastes, gene technology, capitalism,
industrialism and modernity, econometrics, process technology, air pollution.
Prior to joining Ebonyi State University in 1998 started as Agricultural Assistant in Training
on 24th
February, 1983 at the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, old Anambra
State, Nigeria charged with the formation and organisation of young farmers club in selected
secondary schools. Rising through the ranks of Assistant Agricultural superintendent on
6
18.11.85 to Agricultural superintendent on 01.12.87; Higher Agricultural Superintendent on
01.07.90; Senior Agricultural Superintendent on 01.07.94 before being seconded to National
Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Enugu State Directorate as Land
Development Officer/Senior Agricultural Extension Officer on 25.02.94 and Ag. Assistant
Chief Agricultural Extension Officer/Head of Agricultural Extension and Agro-services
Department on 03.05.94.
As Agricultural Superintendent, supervised credit disbursement and recovery at Ikwo Local
Government and Headquarters of the supervised agricultural credit scheme of the Ministry of
Agriculture. Under NALDA, supervised the procurement, and distribution of farm inputs
namely: seedlings, fertilisers, agrochemicals with adequate technical support to organised
farmers of Ukehe in Igboetiti Local Government and the recovery of the costs on periodic
basis in the areas of oil palm, cassava and maize farming in over 7200 hectares of well
developed land.
Within this period worked as Secretary, Think Tank on Agriculture charged with the full
blueprint and execution of agricultural programmes of Enugu state especially on irrigated rice
farming using N26.7 billion irrigation equipment imported by the State Government from and
with full technical support of Israeli Government. Before the Think Tank work served as
Corp Liaison Officer, Arochukwu Local Government of old Imo State, Nigeria in the course
of youth service.
Following the creation of Ebonyi State out of Enugu State on 01.10.96; citizens of the new
state relocated to Abakaliki. Rose to the rank of Senior Agricultural Officer of the Ministry of
Agriculture and Natural Resources, Abakaliki (back dated to 01.01.95) working as
Government House Horticulturist. Resigned career at the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural

As graduate researcher, Centre for Environment and Society/Department of Biological Sciences, University of Essex, UK between October 2001 - October, 2006 was part of soil health research group. The work centered on C fluxes and sequestration in grassland and woodland ecosystems under various levels of land management using field, laboratory and model approaches. The modeling accounted for 7 periods of English agriculture (8050 years comprising the prehistoric, historic, agricultural revolution, post agricultural revolution, green planet and post green planet. CENTURY 4.0 MODEL was chosen in view of ease of configuration to diverse ecosystem. Apart from the quantification of levels of greenhouse gases particularly CO2; their impact on climatic change and their sink on ameliorating these conditions; other subject areas studied included the nutrient dynamics of such ecosystem, particularly C and N, exploration of enzyme activities (cellulose, urease, phosphomonoesterase) and the extraction, quantification
  • 5. 5 and qualification of soil humic acids using chemical methods and 13 C-NMR Spectroscopy. Respiration as an index of microbial activities were measured in the field and laboratory with auto analyser and chemical reagents respectively. These methods helped to account for autotrophic and heterotrophic organisms roles in C-flux. In the course of PhD studies at University of Essex, was invited to taught courses in the Interdisciplinary Centre for Environment and Society that cut across the Departments of Biological Sciences, Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, Economics, Essex Business School, Government, School of Health and Human Sciences, School of law, Literature, Film and Theatre studies and sociology.
