It is my sincere hope that every student should look forward to coming into the classroom ready for new adventures and a whole new world of

large part of my educational philosophy is based on the fundamentals of Progressivism. This philosophy, founded by John Dewey, organizes schools

From the very beginning of a child's life, he/she is taught how to learn. Some are taught to learn as much as they can, while others are taught to learn
basically what they enjoy. Once school comes along each child differs as to how he/she go about their learning. I believe the way a student learns

My passion is to not only teach students in a creative and positive way that they are actually learning but also to inspire them to learn and make
something great of themselves in their future. The reason being when I was younger I did not take my education that serious. If I would have known

When I was a kid, school for me was waking up early in the morning. I also have to study a lot in school, then after school I have to do homework. I
remember my first day at school. My mom and dad, both were so happy and prepared but I was so nervous and cheerless. I didn't like to wake up early

My Personal Education Story My educational background may differ from most students in our class, as I was born and raised in a different country.
My homeland is Sweden which is where I went to school spanning from 1st to 12th grade and my first language is Swedish. Kindergarten was
introduced to the Swedish school system the year before I started school in 1977, and I had the option to "test out" of it and therefore I started 1st
grade a year younger than my classmates. My first six years was in a very small rural school with only 45 students and three classrooms. Each
classroom held 2 grades, 1–2, 3–4, and 5–6. I was fortunate to live within walking distance and felt confident academically as a young student. On the
other hand, I was extremely shy and quiet as a young child, and I sometimes wonder if the lack of a shared Kindergarten experience with my peers
made it harder for me to integrate socially in the beginning. For my Junior High years, I had to take a school bus into the main town about 15 minutes
away to a school with 300 students. My High School was about an hour away in a larger city and held around 2000 students from the surrounding
region.
Children start Kindergarten at the age of 6 in Sweden, and only the first 9 years are compulsory. High School in Sweden is optional and provides an
opportunity for students to choose a more specific field to study. I chose to study business which was a 3–year program. English was introduced in
third grade and was taught as a Foreign Language all throughout my educational journey. In 7th grade I was able to add a third language and chose
German which I studied for 6 years in Sweden, and 3 years at San Diego State University.
Since Sweden is located in Europe, we were taught 'proper' British English. This did create some interesting situations once I arrived in California. For
example, asking for water at a fast food restaurant – with more of a "t" than a "d" sound, or thinking that my Psychology professor didn't know how to
spell color correctly as the "u" was missing.

Starting in Nana's Nuggets preschool, which had a lot of interactive learning, I began my first venture into organized education. This was a very warm
environment, same as in my home, where caring and working with others was very important. I made a lot of friends in this school that I actually

Education is undeniably vital and essential for people from all walks of life. Education is the key to success, and as we all know it, there are too
many reason why education is important in our lives but none on the disadvantages of it because education only brings benefits towards us. According
to Oxford Dictionary, the word 'education' is derived from Latin, Д“ducДЃtiЕЌ in the mid–16th century and is defined as "the process of receiving or
giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university." The origin of education began as story–telling passed knowledge and now it has

Students are often heard whining to their parents about school and finding a thousand and one excuses not to go to school but as little as we realize,
schools actually help build our character and leads us to our career progression. An educated individual is capable of planning for the future, choosing
the right decisions in life and behaving appropriately. Education is not only a pathway to our career but also paves the path to disillusionment. It gives
us the insight on what is right and wrong, making clear judgements and shapes our personalities. The nation's growth depends on the literacy of the
people. "Education is much more than an entry to the job market. It has the power to shape a sustainable future and better world." (Unknown, 2012)
With the help of education, one can easily get an entry of a job while at the same time help develop the nation. Most countries realized that in this
competitive world, education is important for the social progress and economic growth of a nation. As John F. Kennedy quotes, "our progress as a
nation can be no swifter than our progress in education. The human mind is our fundamental resource." In simple words, brain beats brawn, which is
used to define a country. A country with no education cannot win over a country with enhanced technology and strategic
