The effects and benefits 
• Meditation is essentially a tool that enables me to practice mindfulness. The 
essence of mindfulness is becoming more aware, more present in the world that 
we live in. By becoming more aware, I am less distracted by random thoughts and 
this has made a great impact on my life. 
• Personal benefits: 
• Greater sense of peace and serenity 
• Happiness 
• Focus 
• More gratitude 
• Better at dealing with stress and difficult emotions
The effects and benefits 
• Professional benefits (many of them come from the personal): 
• Greater concentration 
• Better at listening 
• More positive and optimistic 
• Better at connecting with people 
• A useful tool for dealing with stress and conflicts
My presentation at Global Village 
• I gave a lecture on the subject of positive thinking and mindfulness 
meditation in the program Global Village at Lehigh university to about 
50 students and faculty members. This is a subject that made a very 
big difference in my life and hopefully it can improve the life of others 
as well

• Journaling – scanning the world for the positive 
• Exercise (many studies on the brain) 
• Smile – our brain can change our minds (Amy Cuddy research) 
• Breathing – stress cycle 
• Meditation 
• Social support network 
• Random acts of kindness (a cup of coffee)

  • 4. The effects and benefits • Meditation is essentially a tool that enables me to practice mindfulness. The essence of mindfulness is becoming more aware, more present in the world that we live in. By becoming more aware, I am less distracted by random thoughts and this has made a great impact on my life. • Personal benefits: • Greater sense of peace and serenity • Happiness • Focus • More gratitude • Better at dealing with stress and difficult emotions

My presentation at Global Village • I gave a lecture on the subject of positive thinking and mindfulness meditation in the program Global Village at Lehigh university to about 50 students and faculty members. This is a subject that made a very big difference in my life and hopefully it can improve the life of others as well • Here are some of the slides that I used to explain these subjects:
