Obesity is a growing problem in the state of New York
as well as the whole nation.
With obesity in the rise there is also a rise seen in
diabetes and heart related diseases.
Obesity is a growing epidemic that has already affected
a large percentage of the population.

allows them to afford gym memberships.
• People who pull in a high income are more likely to have free
time for recreation.

8. Summary
Obesity is a problem across the entire state of New
York. It is clear that the poorer counties have higher
obesity rates because of limited means to acquire
healthy foods and recreational outlets. This is growing
issue that people should be aware of.
