Project manager experience and drive to succeed at Firepole
1. The most important piece of work experience I have had that will
help me to do this job well is working as the project manager in
the creation of the mezcal bar Expendio Tradición.
2. Due to the fact that my previous boss was a full time lawyer, I saw him relatively
infrequently during my time as the project manager of “The Expendio”. Although
this infrequent contact presented a challenge at first, it taught me to work
independently and to trust my best judgment in making decisions. It also forced me
to take more initiative, as well as to manage my time effectively and most of all to
maintain everything completely organized so as to communicate effectively once
my boss and I were able to check back in, and I believe this work experience will
help me to do my job at Firepole.
3. The personality trait that will best support me in succeeding with Firepole Marketing is
that I always give 100%. When I was younger I remember thinking that the kids who
didn’t care (in gym class, about their homework, what their parents said, etc.) were
cool and that I should be more like them, but it’s simply not in my nature. I have always
cared about doing my best even when it is something I don’t particularly like.
4. I believe the drive to always do my best comes from the thrill I feel from a
challenge. Throughout my life I have repeatedly challenged myself with
certain goals that seemed almost unobtainable and worked to master the
skills related to those goals such as making it into the top two choirs at my
high school, running a marathon in college, and moving to a foreign
country and becoming fluent in Spanish post-college. Now, I am ready for a
challenge in my career and to master another skill and I know that my
personality trait of giving it my all will help me to succeed at Firepole.
5. What resonates with me most about Firepole Marketing as a place I would like to
work is Danny’s philosophy on business as something that makes a positive impact
and his mission to empower people to build businesses based around this philosophy.
I can relate to Danny’s idea as I myself have worked as a teacher for 2 years
empowering my students to learn English and obtain their goals.
6. The Firepole concept of business completely aligns with mine and I admire and
appreciate that Firepole is spreading the awareness of and educating others
about mindful business practices. As an entrepreneur with my own company, I
have seen first hand that when business is based on community, honesty, and
growth for all that it is so much more fulfilling and creates a space for business
to be truly enjoyable, and I want to work in a place like Firepole that reflects
these characteristics.
