Most of the times parents are shy to speak to their boys to talk about puberty, here are some points to take as a start of the talk. You must talk to them your own before someone else does and does it wrongly.
2. WHAT IS ADOLESCENCE?
Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that
generally occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood.
Adolescence is usually associated with the teenage years, but its physical, psychological
or cultural expressions may begin earlier and end later.
■ Early Adolescence (Ages 10 to 13)
■ During this stage, children often start to grow more quickly. They also begin notice
other body changes, including hair growth under the arms and near the genitals, and
enlargement of the testicles in.
3. ■ Middle Adolescence (Ages 14 to 17)
■ Physical changes from puberty continue during middle adolescence. Most males
will have started their growth spurt, and puberty-related changes continue. They may
have some voice cracking, for example, as their voices lower. Some develop acne.
■ They may experience odd feeling with opposite gender.
■ Late Adolescents (18-21… and beyond!)
■ Late adolescents generally have completed physical development and grown to their full adult
height.
4. WHAT ISWET DREAM? (nocturnal emissions.)
■ A wet dream is when you ejaculate while you're asleep. “Ejaculate” means to
release semen (the fluid that contains sperm).
■ This happens involuntarily
■ It is one of the signs of maturity and its considered normal.
Causes of Wet Dreams
■ When a male goes through puberty, his body starts producing the hormone
testosterone. Once your body makes testosterone, it can release sperm.
5. ■ During puberty, you'll start having erections at different times of the day.You can even
have an erection while you sleep. Semen can build up inside your body. One way that
semen gets released is with a wet dream.
■ So having wet dream is not a bad thing, its one of Allah’s blessings on us.
■ Wet dreams are a normal part of growing up, but not every teenage boy has them.
Whether you have a lot of them or you don't have any, it doesn't mean there's
anything wrong with you.
6. IMPURITY
■ Wet dream is one of impurities that require GHUSUL (Ritual bath) in Islam
■ A man who has seminally defiled either during sleep, or loving –making (after
marriage), or by any other means, is required to take bath as soon as possible.
■ While he is in a defiled state before taking a bath, its not allowed to do the following:
1. Praying
2. Reading or touching Quran
3.Tawaf (circumambulate around Ka’abah)
4. Staying in the mosque
7. GHUSUL (RITUAL BATH)
What is the ritual bath (Ghusl)?
It is the bathing of the entire body in such a manner that there remains no dry spot.
Allah the Exalted says: “O Believers [faith]! If you are in a state of major impurity [that
requires ritual bath], then purify yourselves.” (Al Maida, 6)
Aisha (may ALLAH be pleased with her) narrated, “Whenever the Prophet of ALLAH
(SAW) performed the bath for janaba, he would clean his hands and perform ablution like
he would for prayer. He then would take a bath and rub his hair until he would that the
whole skin of the head had become wet, then he would pour water over his body three
times and wash the rest of his body” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
8. The complete purificatory bath includes the following:
1- Making the intention.
2- Uttering ‘Bismillah’ and washing the hands thrice as well as the private parts.
3- Making ablution (like that for prayer).
NOTE:The Prophet (SAW) used to delay washing his feet until the end of his ritual
bath. You may wash them now or delay till the end. Wash the right foot first.
4- Pouring water on the head thrice till the whole skin of the head becomes wet.
5-Washing the right side of the body, then the left side while ensuring that water reaches
the whole body by rubbing oneself (washing under the armpits, inside the ears, inside the
navel, between the toes and whatever part of the body that can be easily reached)
