2. I WANT TO USE SOCIAL
MEDIA TO GROW MY
BUSINESS, BUT I DON'T
KNOW HOW.
- SMB OWNERS
3. Well, How Is
It Done?
THE STRATEGY THAT WORKS
Today I'm going to share with you, the
social media marketing strategy that has
been getting results for SMB in the
Springfield, MO area. It can be broken up
into 3 simple steps, but it requires a lot of
work, that you have to be willing to do.
4. 3 - STEP PROCESS
LEVERAGE
Once you've started contributing to
and engaging with your
community, you should start to
gather some followers. Use the
feedback from your community to
grow your following even more.
Once you feel comfortable creating
content within your community,
then you can start to leverage
those followers against your local
community.
FIND YOUR
COMMUNITY
No matter what your small
business may be, there will
be a community for it on the
internet. You need to do
your research and find out
where this community is at
its strongest.
CONTRIBUTE
Once you find your community,
whether it be on Instagram,
Facebook or Linkedin, you need to
find a way to contribute to this
community. You have the
resources of your entire business
at your disposal. You should be
able to come up with some unique
way to contribute and engage with
this community.
5. How?
ONCE YOU'VE GOTTEN
COMFORTABLE CREATING
CONTENT IN YOUR
COMMUNITY. YOU CAN THEN
ENGAGE WITH YOUR LOCAL
COMMUNITY VIA HASHTAGS
AND GEO TAGGING.
EFFECTIVELY LEVERAGING ALL
OF THE FOLLOWERS FROM
YOUR "NICHE" COMMUNITY
AGAINST THE ATTENTION IN
YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY.

6. Example Time
FIND THEM
Let's say I run a business
that makes sandwiches. I
would eventually find the
food niche on Instagram,
and study the big players.
CONTRIBUTE
I would notice that the big
pages mostly post recipes
and tutorials. I would jump
in with a video tutorial of
one of my own recipes,
LEVERAGE
15 tutorials later, I've refined my tutorial
videos and the community loves them.
This is when I start tagging #417,
#417food, etc. My pre-existing
engagement will shoot me straight to the
top of these local hashtags.
7. Thank You!
THAT'S IT!

I wanted to keep this presentation
short and sweet, so I won't go in too
much detail. If you're interested, I
have an entire article on this topic on
my website mydima.net, or you can
ask me as many questions as you'd
like. Thanks for reading! I hope this
helps!
