3. Organization design” involves the creation of roles,
processes and structures to ensure that the
organization’s goals can be realized.
Some people associate organization design with the
mechanical arrangement of positions and reporting
lines on the organization chart.
It is certainly true that organizational designers also
need to define the vertical structure, including reporting
lines.
4. Running a business without an eye toward strategic
direction is liking setting out on a road trip to an
unfamiliar place without a map or a navigation app.
You may eventually reach your destination, but the
journey will be chaotic, and you'll most likely waste
more effort than necessary.
Developing a solid strategy that outlines your company
direction will help you to increase profitability while
making your day-to-day work less stressful.

outline expected results and guide employees’ efforts.
3 types of organizational goals are strategic, tactical, and
operational goals.
Purposes of organizational goals are to provide direction to
employees of the organization.
Strategic goals are set by and for top management of the
organization.
Tactical goals are for middle managers to focus on the
actions necessary to achieve goals.
Operational goals are for lower-level managers to tackle
shorter-term issues.
