• Maintain the product, add new features and find new use. For
example solar water heater with solar light. Gas geezer
connected with Gas line, Electronic power saving water heater.
• Reduce the cost and continue to sell it, possibly to a loyal
niche segment such as old clients, builders and developers.
• Discontinue the product by liquidating remaining inventories
or selling it to another firm that is willing to continue the
product.

• Chi square is Non parametric test.
• There are mainly 2 tests : Goodness of fit & taste of independence.
• It finds association among variables.
• There is data of rank given to poor sound quality by male and
female.
• Here Age is nominal variable while poor sound quality is one of the
variable of ordinal scale.
• H0 – There is no association in the preference of poor sound quality by male and female.
• Assuming level of significance = 0.5%
• X2tab. = (0.5%,6 DF) = 5.348
• Here, X2 tab. > x2 cal. Thus Null hypothesis will be rejected.
• Conclusion: there is association in the preference of poor sound quality
by male and female.

Poor sound quality is probably most
contemporary issues sometimes.
By chi square test we can check association
among 2 variables.
By this test we are able to declare that there is
association in rank given to problem of poor
sound quality by male and female.
Preference towards sound quality problem
male and female think in a same direction.
