2. Thomas Edison
Nikola Tesla
Thomas Edison : {Febraury 11,1847 - october 18,1931}
Thomas was an American inventor and businessman, who has been described as
America's greatest inventor.
Thomas invented the incandecesent bulb.
The bulb was working which is based on direct current.
As Edison expanded his direct current (DC) power delivery system, he received stiff
competition from companies installing alternating current (AC) systems.
Nikola Tesla : {July 10,1856 - January 7,1943}
Nikola was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer,
physicist, and futurist.
who is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current
(AC) electricity supply system.
Tesla worked under the continental Edison Company.

WAR OF CURRENTS :
Thomas Edison had sucessfully invented the electric bulb,
and the famous D.C power which was generated using D.C
generator which led to invention of D.C motor
But he faced problem in transmission of electricity which is
D.C.
The problem was that the power was getting wasted due to
transmission losses in D.C format.
Then comes Nikola Tesla who visited to new york inorder to
launch his induction motor.
He introduced the concept of alternating current which solved
the problem of long transmission which was drawback of
edison's D.C power with invention of A.C generator which
includes A.C induction motor.

WAR OF CURRENTS :
Nikola Tesla approached Thomas, While edison was facing a problem with transmission of
electricity.
Thomas knows the intelligence of Tesla and offered tesla that if he could improve the
performance of dynamos(equipment) then edison will offer him a reward of 50,000 dollars.
Tesla got the solution for his problem, But edison said that it was a joke and refused to
pay the reward to Tesla.
Then tesla resigned the job and kept a new company “Tesla Electric Light Company” with
a bussiness man called George Westinghouse.
Tesla then introduced the “ALTERNATING CURRENT” which offers good efficiency of
power transmission than “DIRECT CURRENT” of Thomas Edison.
Thomas attempted to prove that AC was dangerous to human although nikola also given
some preventive measures.
At the End all the over the world began to adopt AC.
5. IMPLICATION
Life skills plays an important role in the life of scientists
Some of the life skill such as:
Goal setting : Scientists are very determined that are they much more concentrated on their
work.
Positive Attitude : As scientists perform different experiments, They are very observative
during the experiment and very patient.
They may fail several times during the experiment, But never lose their
hope of getting succeed in the experiment.
Problem solving : As scientist are very creative so that they find several ways to solve the
problem.
6. CONCLUSION
INVENTIONS :
The inventions of tesla that changed the world.
such as :
1. Tesla coil
2.Alternating Current
3.Radio
4.Induction Motor
5.X - rays
6.Neon Lamp
7.Tele Automation
