In 2021 the census will be ‘digital first’ and Good Things
Foundation will provide support to ensure those without
skills or access can participate.
3. What is the Census?
It’s a compulsory survey that gives the most accurate
estimate of all the people and households in England and
Wales. The information collected from the census helps
inform local authorities and government about demands for
vital public services such as school places, hospital and GP
services and social care provision.
4. Out offer
Starting Point Community Learning Partnership, as part of
DigiKnow, will be a Census Support Centre and will offer face
to face support to those who need it, or provide remote
support, in areas where COVID-19 restrictions limit the access
or availability of a face to face service.
As of 9th March is has been classified as an essential service.
5. Helpline
There will be a census support helpline open Monday –
Friday 9am – 7pm and Saturdays 10 – 5pm.

6. Additional Information
There is a general support email of census@startpoint.org.uk
It is hoped that face to face support will be available in
venues throughout Stockport with details to be confirmed.
Support will be available in English, Spanish and Farsi.
