This document provides instructions for forwarding emails from a Michigan State University (MSU) email account to a Gmail account, allowing a user to consolidate their emails. It details logging into each account and setting up forwarding in Gmail's "Accounts and Import" settings. Once confirmed, emails sent to the MSU address will be forwarded and allow replies from that address within Gmail.

2. Forwarding your MSU e-mail to your Gmail account is a great way to consolidate your e-mail First login to your MSU e-mail account

3. Locate the MSU Prefs link on the left toolbar, enter your e-mail address and save

4. Login to your Gmail account, and click the settings link in the top right

5. Go to the “Accounts and Import” Tab and click the “Send mail from another address” button

6. Enter in your MSU information into the pop-up box

7. Keep the default settings for this option

8. Send the confirmation e-mail and click the enclosed link upon receiving it

9. Select the option that says “Reply from the same address the message was sent to Now when someone sends an e-mail to your MSU account, it will automatically reply as your MSU e-mail address.

10. By default Gmail will always send e-mail as your Gmail address, but if you’d like to send an e-mail from your MSU address simply select the dropdown box in the top left and choose your MSU account.
