1. Q What makes a successful
summer soirée?
A The company foremost,
then crafting something
intimate and personal. I
always make sure I have
the same three elements:
good food, music and
mood lighting.
Q Foodanddrinkphilosophy?
A Creating contrasts—it’s a
more powerful effect. I like
pairing a sweet wine with
spicy food, or a dessert
with something spicy and
herbaceous, even nutty.
Q Summer soundtrack?
A A cool mix of soul, hip-hop
and jazz. It’s almost
background music, but
it’ll make you move.
Q Best party vibe?
A Ambience is key. I like a
dimly lit room powered
by candlelight for a more
intimate mood, and
something unexpected,
like a make your own
cocktail station.
Q Entertaining tips?
A The type of food you
serve shouldn’t be
sloppy—with the
exception of ribs.
Those are
always good.
