10. But, of course, it isn’t
that easy…
•
Integrity requires courage to
do the right thing and to be true to your
best self. It's one of the toughest
requirements of an ethical life because
courage requires us to face down what
we fear most.
11. FEAR
• Fear is powerful. When faced with
conflict and paying a price we
might not want to pay, it’s easier to
compromise our values, go with
the flow, and not stand up for
someone or something that’s right.
13. Loyalty Example
• A loyal person supports and protects
family, friends, community, and country.
• A person whom is loyal doesn’t gossip
or talk behind the backs of others.
• A person who is loyal doesn’t violate
ethical principles and doesn’t ask a
friend to engage in wrongful activities.
• Who do you know that is loyal?
15. Discussion Questions for
“The Blind Woman and the Physician”
1. Do you think that the woman owes
the physician anything?
2. Have you ever felt taken advantage
of?
3. Why is it wrong to take advantage

4. Would you consider someone who
takes advantage of others
trustworthy?
5. How can you avoid taking
advantage of other people?
17. Activity: Circle of Trust
• Everyone stands in a circle and tightly
holds hands. Every second person
“falls” backwards while the other players
“fall” forwards. Then, players switch
directions. The feet remain in a standing
position and don’t move.
• Goal:
Mutual trust and support.
