Avanta designed and supplied the following
3x floors: -
• Floor 1 = 560 Sq Metres
• Floor 2 = 160 Sq Metres
• Floor 3 = 83 Sq Metres
Floor number 1 had to have a 90 degree stair case
for access within restricted space. Floors 2 and
3 were joined together and matched to existing
walkway stairs. One of the Avanta floors was
joined to an existing floor.
The office space on the upper floor level was
created using double skin steel partitioning with
a suspended ceiling supported by “c” section
purlins. The upstairs layout incorporated individual
and communal offices and meeting rooms. The
front of the office was finished in steel / glass /
steel partitions.
A complex and challenging project with the
position of the existing machines and the
integration of the new machines and conveyors all
achieved within timescales and budgets set.

About the Company
Our client is not only one of the Europe’s leading
producers of customer-specific packaging
solutions, they are also are Europe’s second
largest producer of containerboard. The company
operate along the whole supply-cycle, from the
raw materials to the high-quality finished product.
The emphasis is on state-of-the-art design and
local service close to food, non food and industrial
customer facilities in Europe.
The Requirement
As part of of a wider scheme to increase
production, storage and office space in a 24
hour site that was operating to capacity, Avanta
UK were set the task of designing and installing
3x mezzanine floors to create office space and
additional storage.
The main challenge of this project was to integrate
the floor columns into a revised conveyor layout
whilst the site was still operational 24/7. This
meant a comprehensive detailed column design
was required to fit with existing and the new
conveyors whilst maintaining the load capacity of
the floor. This meant having to lose columns in
certain areases and using different beams.
