As educators and child–care givers make decisions that concern young learners, this article would encourage them to invest in the education of our
youngest children in America. I think the information provided concerning the support that young families could get as a part of the early intervention
process could substantially change the way parents prepare their children for school. This most often would benefit children who are in low–income
and low socio–economic levels. I also liked the ideas the study had to continue to move toward higher academic advancement. One thing that was
mentioned in the study was having extended help for these types of students well into elementary school (Reynolds, 2008). They would begin with
early intervention, but would continue to have programs to provide extra help for those students. From this article and research I am convinced that
working with young children and their families can have rewards when it comes to academic achievement and test scores in upper

This article addresses the many benefits of green spaces in low–income and urban neighborhoods. The main focus of the article is the finding that
green spaces and community gardens help decrease crime by causing residents to be more active in outdoor activities, thus enhancing the lives of its

The report states that there is a correlation between increased daily temperatures and increased deaths, illnesses and hospitalizations and that living in
urban areas increases vulnerability to heat exposure. These higher temperatures in urban areas are attributed to a lack of vegetation, waste heat from
vehicles and buildings and the size of the city. Low–income neighborhoods are especially vulnerable as they lack the resources to adapt to the heat.
The study reports that green projects reduce exposure to multiple pollutants and help mitigate urban heat. This report was a culmination of 102 studies
and research projects from many credible academic papers. The David Suzuki Foundation is a world–renown conservation organization. This report
will be used to show the benefits of trees and expanding urban green spaces such as combatting pollution and enhancing the health of inner–city

An essential part to a good research plan that will result in a completed dissertation is having reliable information that will support the need for the
research topic in the first place (2004). Trochim (2006) discussed validity of information variable relationships in regards to their validity being
conclusive, internal construct or external; or a combination of the four based on the researchers observations. Articles critiques require researchers' to
locate scholarly information that could potentially relate to their research topic. The literature review relationship with the research topic is essential; in
that it might provide the bases for additional research in a particular area. The literature review can expand manuscript quality and peer reviewing
abilities potentially improving the acceptance of the completed work (Kulage, & Larson, 2016).
Part I Article Critique Strategies
Literature reviews are an examination of a study to determine its credibility or worthiness and information significance extracted from the existing
research data (Wakefield, 2014). Literature reviews summaries, critically analyses, evaluates and clarifies the study authors' ideas. The researched

which citation format you should use; others will tell you to choose your own citation format as long as you use it consistently. If your instructor does
not mention citation format at all, you should ask whether a particular format is required. The most common citation formats are MLA (Modern

A Biography On My Mom
I wrote a biography on my mom because she is basically an older and wiser me, but her childhood wasn't exactly as easy. Lashae Damore Bibbins
was born on March fifteenth, 1970 in Los Angeles California at the UCLA Medical Center. She was born on her dad's birthday and unfortunately, the
day her father's best friend died from a car incident. Lashae's parents are Lucille and John Jefferson.
Her first memory was when she was four or three years old in pre–school called Kimberly Ann in 1973. Lashae says, "I remember they had an ugly red
carpet, and I refused to take a nap till the teacher said "okay just lay down quietly". I used to watch a T.V show called "H.R. Puffin Stuff." There
was a red flute, an ugly green witch and the trees moved and talked." Lashae's mom especially remembers when Lashae would cry every time she
dropped her off, which gave her a headache. As a child Lashae was most afraid of dying. She would think about it all the time and scare herself. She
also remembers the weekends when she was young. "Saturdays were the best because I was able to watch cartoons all morning while drinking hot
chocolate and eating toast with grape jelly. My favorite t.v–show to this day was the Brady Bunch."
Lashae had two siblings. Her unreliable older brother, Maurice, who she thought was very weird because he would always lie and steal from their family
and an annoying younger sister, Meme, who at the time lived to make Lashae's life miserable by pretending that Lashae hurt

Annotated Bibliographies In The Classroom
Before I took this class, I struggled to understand why it was important and required for new students. Especially hearing the description of what
types of papers this class would cover, I believed I would learn very little from this class. In two previous classes, I completed annotated
bibliographies, and made an A on each of them. After thispaper is finished, I will move on to work on a ten to twelve–page research paper. I am no
longer a young student taking core curriculum courses. Taking this class as a junior, I realized my mistake. If I attended this class during my
freshmen year, I would be substantially better off for what would have been future classes. Foremost, the annotated bibliographies I wrote would be
much better. When I originally wrote the annotated bibliographies for my other classes, my professor did not provide the step–by–step instructions that
I used diligently to write the annotated bibliography for this class. Typically, I do not like handouts as I see them as wasting paper because I could
simply write down the information in my notes. When I do this, I make the information concise, by writing what I need to know and being able to leave

I have always struggled to string together words to put on the page. After I joined debate in high school, I unlocked a great ability to speak fluently and

worked much harder on being able to write just as much as I could say. Free–writes have proven very helpful in this aspect. Some days we would not
have the time to discuss the free–write, hence, I worked hard to transcribe all the ideas I would want to share with the class on the page. Not only was
I writing the ideas, but I tried to make sure the ideas were written cohesively and grammatically

An Annotated Bibliography Of Writing
This semester in English 102, I can definitely say my time was well spent. Each assignment that I completed benefited me as a student so that I
could become a better reader and writer. With the skills I learned in this class, I will use them to my advantage in future English courses and other
educational endeavors. Being able to read, write, research, and think are important skills to have in order to be successful in any area of study.
Nevertheless, I believe that by taking this class I was able to reinforce and expand on my skills I took away from English 101. When I first entered
this class, I felt like I had a strong grasp on the concepts I was taught it English 101 to be successful. I was already familiar with MLA quoting and
works cited because my previous instructor was very stringent when it came to citing and formatting things correctly. I also had a pretty good
understanding of an annotated bibliography and how to write one since I did it in English 101 and in high school. Researching was another area I
felt confident in because I spent a great deal of time in previous English classes and other courses evaluating and critiquing different sources. For
example, coming into this class I knew about the Academic Search Premier and LexisNexis databases being good starting places to find credible
sources. As far as terminology goes, I had common knowledge on the elements of literature and drama terminology such as conflict, plot, character,
setting, imagery, and irony.

Kafka uses to describe Samsa Senior, he is much like Kafka's father, he has viewed his son as a failure. Kafka uses the relationship between Samsa
senior and Gregory to reflect his own. This review explains the life challenges Kafka went through with dealing with rejection and abuse from his
father and how he has used it to reflect his own story in The Metamorphosis.
This source by Anthony Johan finely explains how the Gregor's bed and illness contributed to how he felt being confined to being an insect and how
Kafka reflected those feelings from his own life.
This article is a good source in explaining the metaphor of turning into an insect and how Johan explained how the bed symbolizes a resting area for
sick people and how the dead lie in their grave. This Metaphor is Kafka's own struggle of feeling confined and how his struggle with being a man

Examples Of Annotated Bibliography
What is an annotated bibliography? When and why is it used? Also, what are in–text citations and why do we use them? These are a few questions that
we will be addressing in this paper, in addition to many other questions about these topics. Let us start by defining an annotated bibliography. As
mentioned by Bullock et. al, "an annotated bibliography describes and gives publication information for, and sometimes evaluate each work on a list of
sources." (p.66) Additionally, an in–text citation is defined as "a reference made within the body of text of an academic essay" ("What is an in–text
citation?", para. 1) We will discover their purpose, why they are important, how to construct them, and when to use them. "The purpose of anannotated
bibliography is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited." ("Annotated Bibliography," 2007) It can be done in

al, 2017) It can be written in different ways, for example, if the author is mentioned in the sentence, you would put just the page number in parenthesis,
e.g. (263). If not, the parenthesis would include the authors last name and page number, e.g. (Wordsworth 263). Additionally, there are many guidelines
depending on the type of source, what information is available, etc. Therefore, it is best to research certain types of citations when you come across
them.
In conclusion, we learned that the purpose of an annotated bibliography is to summarize or analyze the source used for your research. Additionally,
having an annotated bibliography has many benefits. One example is the assistance in developing the proper thesis statement for your paper. With the
extensive summaries or analyzations, you can use this information to choose the right path for your essay. The length and format of your annotated
bibliography is dependent on the style you chose as well as instructions given for the

As educators and child–care givers make decisions that concern young learners, this article would encourage them to invest in the education of our youngest children in America. I think the information provided concerning the support that young families could get as a part of the early intervention process could substantially change the way parents prepare their children for school. This most often would benefit children who are in low–income and low socio–economic levels. I also liked the ideas the study had to continue to move toward higher academic advancement. One thing that was mentioned in the study was having extended help for these types of students well into elementary school (Reynolds, 2008). They would begin with early intervention, but would continue to have programs to provide extra help for those students. From this article and research I am convinced that working with young children and their families can have rewards when it comes to academic achievement and test scores in upper

Low–income neighborhoods are especially vulnerable as they lack the resources to adapt to the heat. The study reports that green projects reduce exposure to multiple pollutants and help mitigate urban heat. This report was a culmination of 102 studies and research projects from many credible academic papers. The David Suzuki Foundation is a world–renown conservation organization. • 11. A Biography On My Mom I wrote a biography on my mom because she is basically an older and wiser me, but her childhood wasn't exactly as easy. Lashae Damore Bibbins was born on March fifteenth, 1970 in Los Angeles California at the UCLA Medical Center. She was born on her dad's birthday and unfortunately, the day her father's best friend died from a car incident. Lashae's parents are Lucille and John Jefferson. Her first memory was when she was four or three years old in pre–school called Kimberly Ann in 1973. Lashae says, "I remember they had an ugly red carpet, and I refused to take a nap till the teacher said "okay just lay down quietly". I used to watch a T.V show called "H.R. Puffin Stuff." There was a red flute, an ugly green witch and the trees moved and talked." Lashae's mom especially remembers when Lashae would cry every time she dropped her off, which gave her a headache. As a child Lashae was most afraid of dying. She would think about it all the time and scare herself. She also remembers the weekends when she was young. "Saturdays were the best because I was able to watch cartoons all morning while drinking hot chocolate and eating toast with grape jelly. My favorite t.v–show to this day was the Brady Bunch." Lashae had two siblings. Her unreliable older brother, Maurice, who she thought was very weird because he would always lie and steal from their family and an annoying younger sister, Meme, who at the time lived to make Lashae's life miserable by pretending that Lashae hurt Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Annotated Bibliographies In The Classroom Before I took this class, I struggled to understand why it was important and required for new students. Especially hearing the description of what types of papers this class would cover, I believed I would learn very little from this class. In two previous classes, I completed annotated bibliographies, and made an A on each of them. After thispaper is finished, I will move on to work on a ten to twelve–page research paper. I am no longer a young student taking core curriculum courses. Taking this class as a junior, I realized my mistake. If I attended this class during my freshmen year, I would be substantially better off for what would have been future classes. Foremost, the annotated bibliographies I wrote would be much better. When I originally wrote the annotated bibliographies for my other classes, my professor did not provide the step–by–step instructions that I used diligently to write the annotated bibliography for this class. Typically, I do not like handouts as I see them as wasting paper because I could simply write down the information in my notes. Free–writes have proven very helpful in this aspect. Some days we would not have the time to discuss the free–write, hence, I worked hard to transcribe all the ideas I would want to share with the class on the page. • 13. An Annotated Bibliography Of Writing This semester in English 102, I can definitely say my time was well spent. Each assignment that I completed benefited me as a student so that I could become a better reader and writer. With the skills I learned in this class, I will use them to my advantage in future English courses and other educational endeavors. Being able to read, write, research, and think are important skills to have in order to be successful in any area of study. Nevertheless, I believe that by taking this class I was able to reinforce and expand on my skills I took away from English 101. When I first entered this class, I felt like I had a strong grasp on the concepts I was taught it English 101 to be successful. I was already familiar with MLA quoting and works cited because my previous instructor was very stringent when it came to citing and formatting things correctly. I also had a pretty good understanding of an annotated bibliography and how to write one since I did it in English 101 and in high school. Researching was another area I felt confident in because I spent a great deal of time in previous English classes and other courses evaluating and critiquing different sources. For example, coming into this class I knew about the Academic Search Premier and LexisNexis databases being good starting places to find credible sources. As far as terminology goes, I had common knowledge on the elements of literature and drama terminology such as conflict, plot, character, setting, imagery, and irony.
