Introduction
Autism researchers continue to grapple with activities that best serve the purpose of fostering positive interpersonal relationships for children with autism. Children have benefited from therapy sessions that provide ongoing activities to aid their ability to engage in healthy social interactions. However, less is known about how Kâ12 schools might implement programs for this group of individuals to provide additional opportunities for growth, or even if and how school programs would be of assistance in the end. There is a gap in understanding the possibilities of implementing such programs in schools to foster the social and mental health of children with autism. The six articles I selected for this assignment present research on different types of therapeutic programs that have been used to promote social interactions in children with autism.
Annotated Bibliography on Autism
Wimpory, D. C., & Nash, S. (1999). Musical interaction therapy â therapeutic play for children with autism. Child Language and Teaching Therapy, 15(1), 17â28. https://doi.org/10.1177/026565909901500103
Wimpory and Nash provided a case study
for implementing music interaction therapy as part of play therapy aimed at cultivating communication skills in infants with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The researchers based their argument on films taken of play-based therapy sessions that introduced music interaction therapy. To assess the success of music play, Wimpory and Nash filmed the follow-up play-based interaction between the parent and the child. The follow-up interactions revealed that 20 months after the introduction of music play, the child developed prolonged playful interaction with both the psychologist and the parent. The follow-up films also revealed that the child initiated spontaneously pretend play during these later sessions. After the introduction of music, the child began to develop appropriate language skills.
Since the publication date for this case study is 1999, the results are dated. Although this study found that music interaction therapy is useful, emerging research in the field has undoubtedly changed in the time since this article was published. Wimpory and Nash wrote this article for a specific audience, including psychologists and researchers working with infants diagnosed with ASD. Their focus means that others beyond these fields may not find the findings applicable to their work.
I am interested in the role of music in therapy to foster social and mental health in children with ASD. Therefore, Wimpory and Nashâs research is useful to me for background information on the implementation of music into play-based therapy in infants with ASD. Wimpory and Nash presented a basis for this t ...

An annotated bibliography is a list of citations going to be used for a formal academic
assignment. It contains appropriately APA formatted reference citations for each source, and
then each of those citation entries will be followed by a descriptive and evaluative paragraph,
known as the annotation. The purpose of annotated bibliographies is to help students to evaluate
the quality and purpose of the chosen article for their assignment.
An annotated bibliography will begin with the simple heading Annotated Bibliography centered
across the top of the page in Times New Roman 12 point font. It should not be bolded,
italicized, underlined, or placed in ALL CAPS.
You will need to cite your entry using APA formatting. Rules for APA can be found here:
https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/05/. Below are some of the important rules to
keep in mind.
ďˇ The entire document will be double spaced. There should not be extra spaces inserted
between entries.
ďˇ Entries should not be organized using bullets or numbering.
ďˇ The entries should be alphabetized by the last name of the first author of each work.
ďˇ Authorsâ names are inverted (last name first); give the last name and initials for all authors
of a particular work.
ďˇ All lines after the first line of each entry in your reference list should be indented one half
inch from the left margin. This is called hanging indentation.
ďˇ If you have more than one article by the same author, single-author references or multiple-
author references with the exact same authors in the exact same order are listed in order by
the year of publication, starting with the earliest.
ďˇ Italicize titles of longer works such as books and journals.
ďˇ Do not italicize, underline, or put quotes around the titles of shorter works such as journal
articles or essays in edited collections.
ďˇ Only the first word of an article, the first word after a colon, and any proper nouns should be
capitalized.

How has your learning from this experience influenced what you will do going forward through your doctoral study process? Be sure to provide supportive examples.Â
One influence is ensuring the data is available for the doctoral study. The best way to achieve this is by compiling as much documentation in the form of annotated biography and exploring the Library resources at Walden.
What areas of weaknesses can you build upon going forward into your Doctoral Study? Be sure to provide supportive examples.
The weak link in this study is the broad population, and it needs reducing to gain the best sampling of interviews. The best example to overcome the weakness is learning the process and looking at the specific business problem within the business (Taylor, 2013).
What opportunities have you identified for promoting positive social change based on your increased understanding? Explain.
Positive social change is an opportunity within itself because when business thrives in a positive direction than the organization, the community, the employees and the leadership better interact with society. Tsaprailas (2015) indicates that managers are faced with various viewpoints, driving forces, and conflict in personalities with a workforce of up to five generations working side by side. Â
What further questions do you still have about the doctoral research process?
Qualitative versus Quantitative are very similar, and I have yet to decide which is better. The study in the works is better suited for qualitative research although there are significant research opportunities from a quantitative perspective. Therefore, a mixed method may be the final determination

You will spend five weeks completing a 5-7 page academic argument in APA style. Each week is devoted to
one phase of the academic writing process:
1. Topic Selection & Beginning Research
2. Pre-Writing & Organization
3. Draft Writing
4. Revision
5. Final Draft
Week 1: Topic Selection & Beginning Research
Select a topic from the list of approved topics that begins on page two of this document. You will be working
with the same topic for the next five weeks. Choose a topic that is interesting but be wary of topics that elicit a
strong emotional response. We will be writing an objective academic paper in third-person perspective, which
may be difficult if you feel too personally connected to the topic.
As you begin to gather research on the topic, start organizing your work into an annotated bibliography. You
will submit your annotated bibliography for grading and feedback at the end of Week 1. You will use a working
thesis statement to guide you. These items may need to be revised before you move forward.
Week 2: Pre-Writing & Organization
After gathering sufficient research, you will begin to build a credible argument about the topic, which may
require revisions to your working thesis statement. You will submit an outline of your academic argument for
grading and feedback at the end of Week 2. The outline may need to be revised before you move forward.
Week 3: Draft Writing
You will utilize your annotated bibliography and outline as tools to write a rough draft essay. The annotated
bibliography provides you with your research notes while the outline guides you through the structure of your
argument. You will submit a rough draft of your academic argument for grading and feedback at the end of
Week 3. You will have time to fully revise your draft over the remaining two weeks of class.
Week 4: Revision
The revision process contains a number of steps that may overlap and repeat. This includes additional research,
more writing, proofreading, editing, and content revision. You must consider and apply the feedback you
received throughout class as you revise your rough draft. You are expected to use Week 4 as an opportunity for
careful and thorough revision.
Week 5: Final Draft
The final week of class will culminate in the submission of your Final Research Paper. This is the final,
complete, error-free version of your academic argument. The final draft is worth 30% of your final grade in this
class.

Research Plan
As part of your Research Plan, you must draft a research question for your research paper. A research question, which is more specific and focused than a general topic, is the question that you will answer in your paper. For example, if your general area of interest is Social Security, a potential research question might ask, âHow might low-income families save more money under a reformed Social Security plan that includes personal retirement accounts?â
As you develop a research question, keep in mind that you will research sources with both supporting and differing viewpoints. Do not select a narrow or one-sided issue that will limit your research; instead, develop a research question that lends itself to further exploration and debate.
What is your topic or area of interest?
Ethics is my topic of interest because people tend to ignore ethics in most of the areas that surround their lives. A person tends to ask what ethics mean and what the purpose in our lives does it play. By definition, ethics are the moral principles that governs a personâs behavior or principles (Moore E, 1995).
In what ways is this topic appropriate for a persuasive essay?
In one way or another, ethics is an appropriate topic to talk about and discuss the positive and negative part. Recently, it has brought very many arguments and different views of different people (William K, 1973).
What is your research question?
My research question is, should ethical values be really followed or not?
How is your research question significant or relevant to the wider community?
In my opinion, ethical values should be followed by most people in the society. It also helps people to stay together in work, public places and interacting in different manners. In the wider community, ethics helps in establishing the hierarchy in working posts, trusting people with each otherâs research work and also it builds a basic foundation of friendships and living together. Also in the wider community, it helps in economic growth in a society and the country at large (Benn Piers, 1998).
What background information provides the preliminary grounds for your research?
Background information was used to find out how ethics changed from the origin to the present. From the 16th century to the present, ethics has undergone a steady but gradual change in terms of living and way of living. The constant change has laid a very good foundation in setting a background information for researching about ethics.
What are some expert or authoritative sources of information for your topic?
Books and articles such as (Benn Piers, 1998) and (Moore E, 1995).
What types of materials do you expect to review for your research paper?
I plan to use articles, books, and magazines. Any credible resources that will support my research.
What procedures will you follow to conduct your research?
I will use Appendix C the sta.

English 122: Composition II
Research Paper Guidelines

How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Â
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying itâs good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation thatâs least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state theyâre comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

As educators and childâcare givers make decisions that concern young learners, this article would encourage them to invest in the education of our
youngest children in America. I think the information provided concerning the support that young families could get as a part of the early intervention
process could substantially change the way parents prepare their children for school. This most often would benefit children who are in lowâincome
and low socioâeconomic levels. I also liked the ideas the study had to continue to move toward higher academic advancement. One thing that was
mentioned in the study was having extended help for these types of students well into elementary school (Reynolds, 2008). They would begin with
early intervention, but would continue to have programs to provide extra help for those students. From this article and research I am convinced that
working with young children and their families can have rewards when it comes to academic achievement and test scores in upper

An essential part to a good research plan that will result in a completed dissertation is having reliable information that will support the need for the
research topic in the first place (2004). Trochim (2006) discussed validity of information variable relationships in regards to their validity being

locate scholarly information that could potentially relate to their research topic. The literature review relationship with the research topic is essential; in

11. A Biography On My Mom
I wrote a biography on my mom because she is basically an older and wiser me, but her childhood wasn't exactly as easy. Lashae Damore Bibbins
was born on March fifteenth, 1970 in Los Angeles California at the UCLA Medical Center. She was born on her dad's birthday and unfortunately, the
day her father's best friend died from a car incident. Lashae's parents are Lucille and John Jefferson.
Her first memory was when she was four or three years old in preâschool called Kimberly Ann in 1973. Lashae says, "I remember they had an ugly red
carpet, and I refused to take a nap till the teacher said "okay just lay down quietly". I used to watch a T.V show called "H.R. Puffin Stuff." There
was a red flute, an ugly green witch and the trees moved and talked." Lashae's mom especially remembers when Lashae would cry every time she
dropped her off, which gave her a headache. As a child Lashae was most afraid of dying. She would think about it all the time and scare herself. She
also remembers the weekends when she was young. "Saturdays were the best because I was able to watch cartoons all morning while drinking hot
chocolate and eating toast with grape jelly. My favorite t.vâshow to this day was the Brady Bunch."
Lashae had two siblings. Her unreliable older brother, Maurice, who she thought was very weird because he would always lie and steal from their family
and an annoying younger sister, Meme, who at the time lived to make Lashae's life miserable by pretending that Lashae hurt

12. Annotated Bibliographies In The Classroom
Before I took this class, I struggled to understand why it was important and required for new students. Especially hearing the description of what
types of papers this class would cover, I believed I would learn very little from this class. In two previous classes, I completed annotated
bibliographies, and made an A on each of them. After thispaper is finished, I will move on to work on a ten to twelveâpage research paper. I am no
longer a young student taking core curriculum courses. Taking this class as a junior, I realized my mistake. If I attended this class during my
freshmen year, I would be substantially better off for what would have been future classes. Foremost, the annotated bibliographies I wrote would be
much better. When I originally wrote the annotated bibliographies for my other classes, my professor did not provide the stepâbyâstep instructions that
I used diligently to write the annotated bibliography for this class. Typically, I do not like handouts as I see them as wasting paper because I could
simply write down the information in my notes. When I do this, I make the information concise, by writing what I need to know and being able to leave

worked much harder on being able to write just as much as I could say. Freeâwrites have proven very helpful in this aspect. Some days we would not
have the time to discuss the freeâwrite, hence, I worked hard to transcribe all the ideas I would want to share with the class on the page. Not only was
I writing the ideas, but I tried to make sure the ideas were written cohesively and grammatically

13. An Annotated Bibliography Of Writing
This semester in English 102, I can definitely say my time was well spent. Each assignment that I completed benefited me as a student so that I
could become a better reader and writer. With the skills I learned in this class, I will use them to my advantage in future English courses and other
educational endeavors. Being able to read, write, research, and think are important skills to have in order to be successful in any area of study.
Nevertheless, I believe that by taking this class I was able to reinforce and expand on my skills I took away from English 101. When I first entered
this class, I felt like I had a strong grasp on the concepts I was taught it English 101 to be successful. I was already familiar with MLA quoting and
works cited because my previous instructor was very stringent when it came to citing and formatting things correctly. I also had a pretty good
understanding of an annotated bibliography and how to write one since I did it in English 101 and in high school. Researching was another area I
felt confident in because I spent a great deal of time in previous English classes and other courses evaluating and critiquing different sources. For
example, coming into this class I knew about the Academic Search Premier and LexisNexis databases being good starting places to find credible
sources. As far as terminology goes, I had common knowledge on the elements of literature and drama terminology such as conflict, plot, character,
setting, imagery, and irony.

Kafka uses to describe Samsa Senior, he is much like Kafka's father, he has viewed his son as a failure. Kafka uses the relationship between Samsa
senior and Gregory to reflect his own. This review explains the life challenges Kafka went through with dealing with rejection and abuse from his
father and how he has used it to reflect his own story in The Metamorphosis.
This source by Anthony Johan finely explains how the Gregor's bed and illness contributed to how he felt being confined to being an insect and how
Kafka reflected those feelings from his own life.
This article is a good source in explaining the metaphor of turning into an insect and how Johan explained how the bed symbolizes a resting area for
sick people and how the dead lie in their grave. This Metaphor is Kafka's own struggle of feeling confined and how his struggle with being a man

we will be addressing in this paper, in addition to many other questions about these topics. Let us start by defining an annotated bibliography. As
mentioned by Bullock et. al, "an annotated bibliography describes and gives publication information for, and sometimes evaluate each work on a list of
sources." (p.66) Additionally, an inâtext citation is defined as "a reference made within the body of text of an academic essay" ("What is an inâtext
citation?", para. 1) We will discover their purpose, why they are important, how to construct them, and when to use them. "The purpose of anannotated
