My Dish Research Paper
Whenever I was sad or upset in anyway my parents would approach me only to tell me to get it together and clean because the dishes were
definitely not going to wash themselves. I once put my hand on the stove just to figure out what it might feel like; it felt hot, and i was crying. My
grandma came to see what happened and just laughed at me and told me to do it again. She made me put my hand in cold water but i ended up just
refilling it over and over again and it was then that she hatched a plan to put my misfortune to good use. She put a step stool on the ground and made
me wash the dishes, it was then that my dish career launched and i started washing dishes all through my latino community.

My Favorite Dish
My favorite dish is prepared by my maternal grandma; they are referred to as lollipops and they are just as delicious. My grandma's family
immigrated from Greece and her grandmother came from a village outside of Sparta, currently named Selasia. Grandma loves to cook the lamb
chops because she knows my sisters and I love to devour them. She says that It gives her "a sense of love that can only be seen on your
(grandchildren's) faces. The recipe is a family favorite that is passed down from mother to mother, generation to generation, going back at least five
generations. Cooking in Mediterranean culture is known as a form of cooking with love as food is used as a way of evoking personal a collective
memory. Grandma says she learned from her mother, as her mother did, and each added variation to perfect their recipe, with the key ingredient
being a dash of love. Coming from a family who is a mixture of many cultures is interesting as this allows me to have many customs unique to just
our household. My mother's side stems from Greece and she comes from a Greek inspired household. Lamb is a very common dish in many
Eastern European cultures, yet in Greece it is taken to a new level, having most of their more exquisite dishes involve some form of Lamb meat. My
personal favorite is the Lamb Chops, or lollipops, that my grandma makes using a recipe she can only remember in her head. While it is written

Ever since I was a little boy, pizza has always had a special place in my heart. From pizza day in the school cafeteria to pizza parties at sleep away
camp, there was nothing more exciting than when that cardboard box was opened to reveal a round pie with eight delicious slices waiting to be

This is my favourite sweet snacks and i don't usually sweet snacks like cookies, cakes or chocolate, but i love Tangyuan, I often eat it for night
snacks. Tangyuan look just like ball shape, people can buy it in some Chinese shop, it has so many different ingredients and flavours like peanuts,

The green small crunchy tree– like shaped vegetable doesn't make me feel guilty about my favorite meal because every bite is filled with specks of
broccoli so the health factor is definitely included. I know I'm getting my proper amount of vegetables. The succulent tan chewy mushrooms provides
an excellent source of potassium, also an interesting fact (mushrooms helps with migraine headaches.) The sundried tomatoes are sparingly sprinkled

My favorite dish is sushi, which is a collective name for a variety of different preparations. There is sashimi, which is just fish, nigiri which consists
of fish and rice, and rolls, which can have a multitude of different ingredients. The dish is Japanese in origin, though many cultures have raw fish
preparations, like Polynesian culture and Peruvian as well. While raw fish is often considered to be the central ingredient, the key to sushi (except
sashimi) is the special rice that defines the dish.
Sushi's history is steeped in folklore. One story is that in ancient Japan, a woman was hiding her rice in osprey nests so that it would not be stolen.
The rice was ferment slightly, and the ospreys would leave bits of fish. The combination of fish and fermented rice was considered to be delicious,
and that it also served to preserve fresh fish a little bit as well (Avey, 2012). By the mid–1700s, the rice was being prepared in a formal way, using
cooked rice that was seasoned with rice vinegar as an accompaniment to fish. The layers were compressed in a box for two hours, sliced and served
(Avey, 2012).
The next development in the preparation of sushi came in the 1820s in Edo (now Tokyo). A vendor with a good location near a bridge developed a
quicker version of the process, where the cooked rice, vinegar and salt were let to sit for a few minutes, delivering a "quick fermentation" process. The

Describe My Favorite Food
My favorite foods consist of a variety of dishes one of them being warm–hot rolls. I prefer wheat with lots of butter. Made from scratch biscuits with
butter and my homemade apple butter or bacon jam. Oh, my it's yummy. I also make granola bars with some butter smeared on the bottom of the pan.
Another one of my favorite, unfortunately it is high in saturated fat. It is my butter crГЁme frosting on top of a white or chocolate cake. I scoop the
frosting off with Lays potato chips. These are my special treats that on occasion I enjoy.
The food that I enjoy the most is Mexican food. Burrito smothered in green chili, Carnitas, quesadillas, tacos, guacamole, are my favorite picks. With
the population of Hispanics being so large in Colorado, my family enjoys eating Mexican food. The Mexican food here in North Carolina is not as
good as in Colorado, but that's a personal preference.
Enjoying a mixed salad is a must. I enjoy making salads with kale, romaine lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, kale, cabbage – purple and white, red bell
pepper, pickled jalapenos, sweet onions and then top it off with, avocado, or tuna or grilled chicken or salmon. Another favorite for me are my
homemade soups. I use chicken or beef with the bone still in place because much of the flavor comes from the bone. I add fresh vegetable, onions,
and pearl barley to make it a little hardier.
My least favorite foods are okra, sardines, pig feet, pig ears, are disgusting. The thought of eating

Usually when someone asks me "what is your favorite food?" My immediate reply is food. I know that sounds like I 'm trying to be funny but it 's
true. I enjoy such a wide variety of food that to narrow it down to "this is my favorite food that I would be happy eating for the rest of my life," it 's
nearly impossible. So I have decided to talk about one of my many favorite foods: sandwiches. One of the things I like the most about sandwiches is
that they can be so versatile. You could do Vietnamese and have bahn
–mi or Mexican and have a torta. Or, settle for the old comfort of a peanut butter
and jelly.
Just like it is impossible to narrow down a favorite food, it 's hard for me to narrow down a least favorite food as well. I 've always been pretty easy to
please in the food department. There aren 't many things that I don 't like. That being said there are a couple of things that I have tried and found to
be disgusting. Durian definitely tops that list. Durian is a fruit native to South East Asia. It is distinctive by the fact that it 's covered on spikes and
its strong pungent odor. The odor has been described as rotten onions, turpentine, and even raw sewage. Personally, I 've always felt it smelled and
tasted like dirty socks. I have tried it several times in several different ways, and it 's just not something that I can handle.

Food is the one thing that we cannot live without. Even for those who have developed the discipline to fast for a specified period, eventually, they
must start eating again. We love our food to the point that recorded in history as being the first sin. Food is something we all enjoy, and sometimes

relief. Fridays for high schoolers are synonymous with no burden fun with individuals relaxing at home, going out with friends, or showing their school
spirit during the sports events that occur. For me personally, fridays aregame days, with lots of clicking, tapping, and yelling, full of video games
galore. A constant Skype call running through my group of friends creating a state of bliss during which all myschool responsibilities are forgotten.
But, I don't have a specific day I would call my favorite only a specific time. It's the time around 7 pm every day during which my whole family comes
together to our dining room to share dinner together.
During, our dinner there are no electronics allowed, books, or other distractions allowed it's just the food and us giving each other company. Being
raised in a family that stresses the bonds between family and virtuous before anything else this time is almost holy to us. It's a break in the fast–paced
world in order to ground ourselves and appreciate the company of others. During our dinner, my Mom, Dad, and Little Brother all discuss how
our days have been and how things have changed in our lives. It's a time where we all laugh at the jokes that have happened in our lives and share
our precious moments. But, it is not just all casual it's during this time that my brother and I discuss how our school life is going and how we have
been acting. If I don't do as well in something at school my parents try to help me figure out what I did wrong and give me advice on what to do next,
whether it goes to tutorials or to get me a tutor. If, during the day we break our morals or go against our values my mom stresses the importance of
those virtuous our values. Honesty, Respect, Appreciation, Responsibility, Loyalty, and Open
–mindedness are all taught by my mom and she
constantly checks to make sure I adhere to these values.
It's these values that constantly come into play when I am at school or outside. Like, when during the class the teacher gave me a linear curve for
those who did their flashcards on a major test. I had only

My Dish Research Paper Whenever I was sad or upset in anyway my parents would approach me only to tell me to get it together and clean because the dishes were definitely not going to wash themselves. I once put my hand on the stove just to figure out what it might feel like; it felt hot, and i was crying. My grandma came to see what happened and just laughed at me and told me to do it again. My grandma's family immigrated from Greece and her grandmother came from a village outside of Sparta, currently named Selasia.
