4. Introduction
 PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controllers. They are
basically used to control automated systems in industries.
 They are one of the most advanced and simplest forms of control
systems which are now replacing hard-wired logic relays at a large
scale.
 It uses a programmable memory to store instruction and specific
functions, that include ON/OFF control, timing, counting,
sequencing, arithmetic, and data handling.

Plc is a digital computer designed for multiple inputs
and outputs arrangements, extended temperature ranges.

7. Power supply
Provides the voltage needed to run the primary plc components
I/O MODULES
Provides signal conversion and isolation between the internal
logic level signals inside the plc and the field’s high level
signal
PROCESSOR
Provides intelligence to command and govern the activities of
the entire plc system
PROGRAMMING DEVICE
Used to enter the desired program that will determine the
sequence of operation and control of process equipment or
driven machine

8. Introduction of SCADA
 The term SCADA stands for Supervisory Control And Data
Acquisition.

It is an automation control system that is used in industries
such as energy, oil and gas, water, power, and many more.

A SCADA system is a common process automation system
which is used to gather data from sensors and instruments
located at remote sites.

11. Working Of Job Testing Machine
 The job testing machine consists of one ON and OFF pushbutton,
single and double-acting cylinders, two lamps, sensors, OK punch.
 When the job is placed on the table the job sensing sensor senses
the presence of the job.
 When the job is present the machine will start to run. The double-
acting cylinder piston moves forward movement.
 After reaching the final position of piston the piston position
sensors will senses the piston position and the air supply is ON for
checking or testing the job for 5seconds.

12.  If the OK signal is not formed before completion of 5 seconds
then the job is rejected.
 The air supply is OFF and a double-acting cylinder comes back
to its original position and the job is removed.
 If the OK signal is formed before the completion of 5second
then the job is OK and the single-acting cylinder moves forward
and makes OK punch on the job and goes back to its original
position.
 This process/cycle is repeated for checking a number of jobs.
 The ladder diagram program is in the Annexure-I for the above
task.

13. conclusion
 The internship experience with Indwell Automation helped me
in automating process in an industry and the working of PLC
hardware and software.
 Also, it gave opportunity to develop different PLC programs
for automating a process in an industry.
