• CAIRO is the capital of Egypt and the largest city in the Arab
world.

8. GEOGRAPHY
• Cairo is located in northern Egypt, known as Lower Egypt,
south of the Mediterranean Sea, west of the Gulf of
Suez and Suez Canal
• The city lies along the Nile River, immediately south of the
point where the river leaves its desert-bound valley and
branches into the low-lying Nile Delta region.
9. CLIMATE
• In Cairo, and along the Nile River Valley, the climate is a hot desert
climate. Wind storms can be frequent, bringing Saharan dust into the
city, from March to May and the air often becomes uncomfortably
dry.
• High temperatures in winter range from 14 to 22 °C, while night-
time lows drop to below 11 °C, often to 5 °C . In summer, the highs
rarely surpass 40 °C , and lows drop to about 20 °C.
• Rainfall is sparse and only happens in the colder months, but sudden
showers can cause severe flooding.
• The summer months have high humidity due to its coastal location.
Snowfall is extremely rare; a small amount of graupel, widely
believed to be snow
10. ECONOMY
• Egypt's GDP is 404 Billion USD. Egypt's economy is dependent on
agriculture, media, petroleum exports, and tourism.
• There is growth and investment in communications and physical
infrastructure. There is also a developing energy market based on coal, oil,
natural gas, and hydro power.
• Oil and gas are produced in the western desert regions, the Gulf of Suez,
and the Nile Delta. Egypt has huge reserves of gas, estimated at 1,940
cubic kilometer.
• Egypt's main revenue comes from tourism. More than 13 million tourists
visit Egypt per year bringing revenue of 12 billion USD.
• Egypt's most prominent multinational companies are the Orascom Group
