Khomotso Gunya is a
career counselor at
Psycad; she focusses on ca-
reers development, career
guiding and career assess-
ment. She has been in prac-
tice since 2011; she previous-
ly worked for the Department
of Agriculture and she is hap-
py with her change and she is
happy here at Psycad.

1.What makes Psycad dif-
ferent from other psy-
chological institutions?
The is no difference the work
the same and provide the
same services, however

system or care center for
students,

There are different depart-
ments at Psycad so you

events are and to which
departments allocated.
3.Why did you come up
with Psycad at UJ?
“All universities have such a
service to their students,
it’s no different at UJ,
Psycad was established
for student who can’t
cope with university life
and who need help with
their career path which is
my area of expertise”

does Psycad receive
from students?
The feedback is between the
Psychologists and the stu-
dent; it’s not known to us.
We work on a patient con-
fidentiality.
5.Is the a trend in students
who make use of Psycad
services?Each student is
unique therefore they all
come seeking help for dif-
ferent things, both male
and female visit Psycad.
6.How can Psycad help stu-
dents get jobs after
graduating?
Psycad does not look for
work for students, howev-
er we do let student know
when there are available
posts that Psycad is aware
of, we also help student to
use different strategies of
looking for work, because
opening the newspaper is
not enough.
Depression is a slow killer
Depression is a medical illness that causes a con-
stant feeling of sadness and lack of interest. De-
pression affects how the person feels, behaves and
thinks about themselves and other things in gen-
eral. The symptoms are a constant feeling of sad-
ness, anxiety, and emptiness.
Services such as Psycad are established for peo-
ple who have the same symptoms as mentioned
above, any problem big or small Psycad welcomes
you.
