Dear Parents,
Your son/daughter has been invited to take part in a taster day at the University of Greenwich on
2nd July, 2010. This will provide a unique opportunity for Year 12 students to gain an insight
into university life and become familiar with the process of applying to university. The day will
focus around the work of the department for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Even if your son/daughter may not be considering a career in this area, I urge them to take part in
the day for the experience. Your son/daughter needs to make their own way to the Queen Anne
Building Lecture Theatre 080 on the Greenwich Maritime Campus, Park Row for 9.30am. They
will be involved in activities at the university until 3.30pm. They will then need to make their
own way home from the university. Pupils will be responsible at ALL TIMES for their own
safety and well-being. Please could you complete the form below and return it to me asap
giving your permission for this to take place and your acknowledgement that pupils are
responsible for their own welfare and transport on this day.
Yours sincerely,
Miss E. Beer
Head of Sixth Form
