3. Machining Department:
The raw material in unevenly shaped products is machined in respective machines to
reduce or to bring it into standardized shape and size using different machining
operations on different machines. Here in this department, a worker should be highly
skilled and he should know about all standards and safety precautions while performing
operations on different machines.
4. Inspection Department:
Here learned about the observations on the final product by checking its
dimensions and the quality of the product should be matched to the standards which are
taken as the reference during the manufacturing process.

TASKS PERFORMED DURING THE INTERNSHIP
3rd WEEK
During the 3rd week they gave us manufacturing departments to work.
1. Numbering: This process involves printing a unique number on the crankshaft
before the starting of operations which indicates the batch number and manufacturing
date.

2. Facing: Facing is an operation of machining the end of a workpiece that is
perpendicular to the rotating axis. During the facing, the tool moves along the radius of
the workpiece to produce the desired part length and a smooth face surface by
removing a thin layer of material.

3. Gear End Turning: Turning is a machining process used to make cylindrical parts
in which the cutting tool moves in a linear fashion while the workpiece rotates.
Commonly performed with a lathe, turning reduces the diameter of a workpiece to a
specified dimension and produces a smooth part finish.

4. Annealing: Annealing is a heat treatment process that changes the physical and
sometimes also the chemical properties of a material to increase ductility and reduce
the hardness to make it more workable. The annealing process requires the material
above its recrystallization temperature for a set amount of time before cooling.

OUTCOMES OF INTERNSHIP
1. Learnt how sections are well mannerly arranged inside the mechanical department.
2. Main things to get in mind are time management and cooperation with the people
working around us.
3. Got to know how teamwork is important in an organization or anywhere among the
team.
4. Learned leadership qualities and actually saw how it is to be a leader.
5. And also came to know how it is important to have a sense of work.
6. Inventory management and how scrap materials are sold without wasting them,
7. How important is it to leave workers independent and create the environment of we
are one among all.
