2. A report on visiting Indian Oil (The energy of India)
As The Energy of India, Indian Oil accounts for nearly half of India's petroleum products market
share, with sales of 81.027 million metric tons (MMT) in the year 2020-21. Indian Oil has a group
refining capacity of 80.55 MMTPA and over 15,000 KM of pipeline network dedicated to fuel
India's economic rise. Indian Oil led the downstream PSUs in becoming fully BS-VI compliant,
ensuring a seamless pan-India transition from BS-IV directly to BS-VI grade transport fuels by
16th March, 2020, a full fortnight ahead of the 1st April 2020 deadline.
Indian Oil's cross-country pipeline network facilitates crude oil transportation to refineries and
finished products to high-demand centers in an efficient, economical, and environment-friendly
manner. The network has been globally benchmarked as the safest, cost-effective, energy-efficient
and environment friendly and stands as a firm testimony to our engineering brilliance.
Leadership:
Shrikant Madhav Vaidya is a chairman of Indian oil he is a chemical engineer from the national
institute of technology, Rourkela. He has over 34 years of extensive experience in refining
petrochemical operations.
He is among the select technocrats in the Indian oil & gas industry who are proficient in all facets
of refinery-petrochemicals integration, desirable for the sustainability of the oil & gas industry in
the long-term.
Mr. Vaidya is also a Non-Executive Chairman on the Board of Chennai Petroleum Corporation
Ltd. (a Subsidiary of Indian Oil), Ratnagiri Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd., Indian Oil Tanking
Ltd., Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd. (all three are Joint Venture Companies of Indian Oil). He
is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Petronet LNG Ltd. (a Joint Venture of Indian
Oil) and President of World LPG Association, Paris.
3. Shri Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra
Director (Human Resources)
Shri Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra is a Mechanical Engineer from BITS, Pilani and a Post-Graduate
in Management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. Shri Mohapatra has over
three decades of experience in the petroleum industry and has handled various assignments in the
Marketing Division of the Company including Terminal Operations, Supply Chain Management
& Logistics. Shri Mohapatra was also one of the chief architects of the auto-fuel quality (BS-
III/BS-IV) upgradation programmes of Oil Companies in India.
Shri Mohapatra is also the Chairman of Lanka IOC PLC (subsidiary of Indian Oil in Srilanka).
Widely travelled in Europe, USA, Africa and Southeast Asia, Shri Mohapatra has presented
several papers in national and international forums and has also published articles in international
journals.

1- Paramarsh:
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. has won the COVID Management Initiative of the Year in the Asian
Oil and Gas Awards. In its inaugural year, the awards aim to recognize the best of the best in the
oil and gas industry in the Asia Pacific region that have risen above various challenges and
remained steadfast despite a very challenging environment.
With an aim to help, support and enhance the mental and physical wellbeing of its employees,
Indian Oil has also launched “Paramarsh”, an employee assistance program that will help them
deal with issues and complications that could adversely affect their wellbeing and impact their on-
job performance.
2- Aarohai:
Women leadership development program 2020 which start by Indian oil corporation to develops
in a partnership with SHRM. This is the program to develop the women leadership in organization.
When women are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous.” said Michelle

4. Launch of ‘Aarohi’ initiative that aims at all-round development, especially leadership qualities of
a select group of women leaders at the middle management level.
3- MADHYAMA-1
is a mid-career mandatory training program, specially designed for officers who have completed
12 years of service in the Corporation in the officer cadre Through Madhyama-1, participants will
be exposed to several functional areas with cross-functional knowledge as well as behavioral
inputs to enhance soft skills for competency building. This program has been exquisitely crafted
by the experts and is going to be delivered by SMEs from Indian Oil and the faculties from IIM
Amritsar as our knowledge partner. We are sure that this program will not only act as a refresher
but will also give fresh inputs on some new areas to the participants. Considering the pandemic,
this program is being conducted virtually.
4- Pratidhwani:
Pratidhwani is the feedback which collect in 6 months and consist of 64 questions to prove all the
qualities of Indian oil.

Swadhyaya – Indian Oil’s e-learning platform
Indian Oil developed an e-learning platform, christened Swadhyaya (self-learning), containing
about 1100 modules on a wide range of functional content across the organization. Just before the
lockdown, about 6,000 hours of content was consumed by 2,000-odd active users. Through
focused communication, promotion and daily analytics sharing, a learning revolution was
triggered. Swadhyaya now has almost 19,000 active users who consumed around 5 Lakhs hours
of e-content in the last few months.
