3. 6 different designs of Mandals
Outer Mandalas Teaching Mandala
Healing Mandala
Let's start with the most
fundamental. Outer
Mandala is the name of
it. The cosmos or world
system is represented by
the outer mandala.
Basically, these
mandalas are utilized for
offerings. We present a
mandala to a spiritual
leader and request
wisdom from him or her.
Buddhism has a regular
method for saying "thank
you" to others: offering
an outer mandala.
Another kind is referred
to as a teaching
mandala. Mandalas used
for instruction are
symbolic. In a teaching
mandala, each form, line,
and color stands for a
particular component of
Buddhism. A monk
acquires mandala-
making skills while
pursuing his monastic
studies. You might think
of the teaching mandala
as a vibrant mental map
that depicts Himalayan
culture.
Compared to a teaching
mandala, a healing
mandala is more intuitive.
For the purpose of
meditation, healing
mandalas provide
specific wisdom.
Focusing and
concentration may be
practiced with the healing
mandala.
4. Kalachakra Mandalas Mantra Mandala Buddha
Mandala
The meaning of Kalachakra is
"Cycle of Time." The
Kalachakra Mandala is used for
meditation.
Through their meditation on the
Kalachakra mandala, monks
attempt to ritualistically enter
the mandala and take on the
characteristics of the god.
The purpose of the Kalachakra
Mandala is to facilitate healing
and the enlightenment of
ordinary minds.
Three components of the deep
Buddhist teaching and practice
known as the Kalachakra
Tantra are included:
•Outer Kalachakra
•Inner Kalachakra
•Alternative Kalachakra
Mandalas known as mantra
mandalas are ones in which
the mantras are arranged
around a central image of a
Buddhist deity or symbol.
Words or phrases are repeated
aloud or silently as meditational
tools in mantra mandalas.
Traditional Hinduism and
Buddhism are most usually
linked to the use of mantras
and mandalas.
Many mantras and certain
mandalas are believed to have
been revealed supernaturally
by the gods or spirits they are
connected to.
Mandalas and mantras are
used to "focus" the mind during
meditation and visualization,
which helps the seeker go
down a certain spiritual path.
The Buddha's eternal cycle of
Samsara and his teachings are
depicted in his mandala. The
Noble Eightfold Path that the
Buddha demonstrated is
represented by the wheel's
eight rays, which also stand for
knowledge. The rim serves as
a visual representation of the
value of practice and
meditation.
