3. CASE ANALYSIS
3
• How is the company’s policy and approach towards employees?
The company was not generating good revenue as Tim mentioned to Kristen if they didn’t get the Hybara Casino project they would
have to cut loose of some employees next year. Also the company had bad employee promotion and retention policy because they
promoted Tim even though he hasn’t shown good leadership skills and they failed to retain Alessandra as she had good leadership skills
and was the key person to the company.
• Did Tim as a lead manager took good decisions and showed good leadership skills?
No, Tim was not a good manager as he didn’t lead his team by example. He took a decision to take the Hybara Casino project and
complete a 6 week project into 2 weeks without consulting his team. Nor did he lead the team after taking the decision instead he
delegated his duty to Kristen and wanted results.
He did bad decision making as he accepted the deal on Hybara’s terms keeping the companies reputation on the line. He could have
turned the deal into an advantage for the company by realizing the opportunity attached to the situation as hybara’s came back to them
which meant they were the best choice in the market.
• Is the Rookie ready?
Yes, the Rookie is ready as Kristen had potential and had shown good results in past. She was in self-doubt and lacked motivation which
could have been solved with Alessandra’s assistance and Tim’s help as good leader. With good motivation Kristen would also lead her
subordinates by example and this would turned the work environment effective and efficient.
5. Tim should have talked about the project with his team before
agreeing to it
Tim should have not let Alessandra leave the company
Kristen should have been bold with her approach with her team
members
Since employees were resigning because of Tim's way of work, top
management should have done something to prevent it
Instead of giving the entire project to Alessandra the company can
consult her when Kristen and her team face some issues or just for
mentoring the team.
