Introduction
 The Internet of Things (IoT) is a scenario in which
objects, animals or people are provided with
unique identifiers(IP Addresses) and the ability to
transfer data over a network without requiring
human-to-human or human-to-computer
interaction and its embedded with electronics,
software, sensors.
 IoT has evolved from the convergence of
wireless technologies, micro-electromechanical
systems (MEMS) and the Internet.
Conti…..
 Technological limitations are receding
exponentially. When billions of things are
connected, talking and learning the only
limitation left will be our own imaginations.
 These all things are starting to talk to each
other and develop their own intelligence .
Trends
 It is emerging as the next technology
mega-trend, with repercussions across the
business spectrum. By connecting to the
Internet billions of everyday devices –
ranging from fitness bracelets to industrial
equipment – the IoT merges the physical
and online worlds, opening up a host of
new opportunities and challenges for
companies, governments and consumers
Conti…
 five key early verticals of adoption
(Wearables, Cars, Homes, Cities, and
Industrials) as test cases for what the IoT
can achieve.
 Focus on: new products and sources of
revenue and new ways to achieve cost
efficiencies that can drive sustainable
competitive advantages.
Interest Areas
 The IoT building blocks will come from those that
can web-enable devices, provide common
platforms on which they can communicate, and
develop new applications to capture new users.
 Enablers: we see increased share for Wi-Fi, sensors
and low-cost microcontrollers.
 Platforms: focus on software applications for
managing communications between devices,
middleware, storage, and data analytics.
 Industrials: Home automation is at the forefront of
the early product opportunity, while factory floor
optimization may lead the efficiency side.
Conti…
 IoT will rearrange the tech landscape,
again. It has key attributes that distinguish
it from the regular internet.
 It’s explained as sensing, efficient,
networked, speciali.zed, everywhere.
 These above attributes may tilt the
direction of technology, development
and adoption, with significant
implications.
Conti..
 I want to connect all the devices and stuff
by an intelligent and efficient system.
 To develop higher level protocols for
network layer.
 To provide monitoring and security
everywhere for IoT.
Thank you
