provides flexible extension
capability for further enhancing the
device capacity and adding multi
service attributes.
With advanced synchronization
capabilities it plays a significant role
in the end-to-end synchronization
of Nokia Siemens Networks Mobile
Backhaul solution. Allowing support
for Frequency Division Duplexing
(FDD) as well as Time Division
Duplexing (TDD) technologies, the
A-1210 can play a major role in
2G/3G/LTE mobile backhaul solutions.
The A-1210 can be deployed as a
high-end CLE for delivery of services
with bandwidth higher than 1Gbps.
The A-1210 as an aggregation switch
working together with the A-210/A-1180
demarcation devices and A-1200 or
A-2200 as 1st level aggregation will
implement a very cost-effective
standards based access solution.
SDH like transport service can be
established by attaching the A-1210
based ring to an MX, or as a stand-
alone ring.
The Nokia Siemens Networks’ASPEN
management system enables E2E
carriergrade management which
includes: provisioning, monitoring and
performance analysis.
Using these products in conjunction,
carriers and service providers can
construct a powerful high-performance
and efficient Metro infrastructure,
designed to quickly deliver profitable
communication services.

The CET solution offers advanced for
end-to-end protection mechanism
that protects against any type of
network failure.
MPLS(-TP)
The A-1210 is designed to take part
in MPLS (-TP) network solution. These
capabilities can be provided in the
future by software upgrade. NSN’s
Carrier Ethernet Transport solution
can leverage the strong position and
the synergies between Carrier Transport
and MPLS(-TP). MPLS(-TP) delivers
carrier grade transport solution in all
market segments by:
• keep supporting of strict BW
guarantee and hard QoS
• keep supporting of ASPEN
driven LSP path computation
MPLS(-TP) is add-on to current
functionality, preserving Ethernet
features at service level:
• Allow LSP provisioning with
dynamic end-to-end protection
and restoration
• Support of mixed access topologies
with traditional Ethernet domains and
new MPLS(-TP) domains
MPLS(-TP) gains more more
attraction from Service Providers and
due its early technology stage and first
deployment attempts could serve as
differentiation factor for NSN PN BL:
• Part of NSN Flexi* MW MPLS
solution
• Part of JV MPLS(-TP) solution
support for end-to-end MPLS-TP
tunnels over multi-technology,
multilayer network.
