2. What is GMC?
The Global Management Challenge is the world’s largest management and strategy
competition based on business simulations in which more than 500,000 university students and
company managers participate in this event throughout the world. The concept of the competition
started in Portugal in 1980. It is currently present in 30+ countries.
Countries organize the competition locally, and the international finals bring together
competitors from diverse origins E.g. Kenya, Brazil, China.
The global management challenge consists of a Management simulation in which each teams
runs a virtual company with the objective of getting the highest investment performance.
This gives the competitors an opportunity to:
Analyse Financial and Economic indicators
Interact with the functional areas of a company.
Understand the market conditions in which they compete and customer satisfaction.
Become aware of the impact of their decisions on the organization itself, with an environment
designed to encourage and develop teamwork.
