My missionstatementforRunawayGlossinteriordecoratingcompanyistocreate a lookto your
personalityandbringthe latestfashiondesignandturnitintointeriordesignforall ages. We will market
ourselvestoourconsumers’andforma lastingimpressionof work.Deliveranextraordinaryhome
presentationanddesignonacost operational budgetwithacontented andactive consumer-designer
relationship. We will buildconfidence inourconsumersbyeliminatingtheirproblemsandensure them
theycan get the producttheywant withoutworryingaboutthe cost. Most storesonlyhave products
that cater to olderadultsandkids,butRunawayGloss InteriorDesign doesnotlimitcertainage groups.
We will be able toaccommodate everyage group.
The floorand countertopsof the showroomwill have aglossysheen.The countertopswill have
several examplesof granite andthe floorswillbe hardwood.The showroomwill have presentation
boardsto showclientsinitial conceptforthe project.There will alsobe material boardsfordifferent
textures,fabrics,woodandgranite.Clientswill have achoice of roomdesigns,floordesignsand
furniture designs.Onthe wall,clientswillbe able tobrowse throughmagazinesandscrapbooksof
previousprojects.
There will be bigscreentelevisionsinthe frontandbackof the showroom.The televisionwill
have a PowerPointthatshowcasessatisfiedclientswiththeirendproject.The productswill be uniqueas
theywill mostly be made inAmericaproducts. There willbe comfortablechairsforcustomerstosit
while theywaitfortheirappointment.The mediumpurplewallsandlightcolorwoodmakesthe
atmosphere veryinviting.The customerswillenjoythe sceneryandhealthysnacksastheyview the
PowerPoint.
Our positionforthe businessisfor customerstochoose fromunique rare stylesandtrendsof
interiordesigningthatmeetsthe customers’personalityatanaffordable price.The customers will
appreciate the selectionof made inAmericaproductsofferedatthe business. The businesswill
promote the personal one-on-one customerandclientrelationship. Eachcustomerwill filloutasurvey
withtheirpersonal designertohelpcustomizetheirprojecttotheirliking. The company’sfocusisnotto
do the usual but to thinkoutside the box asmuchas possible tomake the designsone of akindand as
unique aspossible.
One of the firsttaskis to retrieve licenseforthe business.The licenseincludesexamination
requiredby NCIDQwhichstandsforNational Council forInteriorDesignQualification. The requirement
alsoincludeshavingapost-highschool educationand requirededucation forfouryears,total education
plusexperience muchequal to six years. The state boardof agencyis VirginiaAPELSCIDLA Board. Second
isthe logisticssystemwhichisgeneral liabilityinsurance andpropertyinsurance (all riskpolicy).Third
task ischoosingthe suppliers.The suppliersfor laminate/woodproductsisBruce hardwoodflooring,
the supplierforgranite is MSI Granite,andthe supplierforfabricisFabricCustomFabrics onDemand.
The company wouldneedtopurchase televisionsbyElement. The PCcomputers will be purchasedfrom
Dell Computers. The type of software is Adobe Creative Suites(Photoshop,Illustratorand InDesign). I
will use the software because of computeraideddrafting(CAD),3dModeling, computerrenderingand
buildingInformationModeling(BIM) operatingsystem MicrosoftWindows7Enterprise,Ultimate,
Professional,orHome Premium.
The customerbase will include youngadultstomiddleage clientsthatare youngadultsto
middle age clientsthatare intransitioningtoowningtheirownhome forthe firsttime or whoare
interested updatingtheircurrenthome.The update couldbe fora single roomor the entire home.The
hobbiesandactivitiesIwouldfocusonwouldinclude avarietyof consumers. Those menorwomen
interestedinsportsandfitness. There wouldbe showroomstoattract NBA and NFLlovers. These
showroomswill addressthe sportsfanaticandhave all the availableteamsforcustomerstochoose.
The other customerbase wouldfocusonthe modern,contemporary,girly,edgy,rebel,crafting, artsy
and wildpersonalities. These styleswould be identifiedduringthe interviewingprocessandsurvey
prospective customerswouldfill outwiththeirpersonal designer. The companywouldstartinthe
Virginiaandcontinue withnewbusinesseseveryfive years.
There are many ‘’doit yourself’’televisionshowsandmagazines.Some of the competitors
wouldbe Home Goods,Home Depot,Lowes,andevenWalmart.The differencewithmybusinessisthe
expertadvice andlatesttrends of interiordesign.Customerswill have the opportunitytosee whatthey
have pickedoutsimulatedonthe computerbefore makingtheirfinal decision. The companywill be
able to meetthe needsof all ages. The businesswouldadvertise withflyersaswell astelevision
commercials.
In 20 years,the goal is to have at leastfive storesalongthe eastandwestcoast. The goal is to
have each store makinga yearlyprofitof at least$1 milliondollarseach.Mypersonal income goal is of
at least$100,000 yearly.The strategyisto opena new store everyfive yearswithinthe 20 yeartime
frame.Afterthe firstfive years,eachstore will have atleast20 employeesandamanagerin eachstore
appointedbythe owner. Each managerwill reporttome on a weeklybasis. Eachstore will have a
personal accountantwhichwill make sure all necessarytaxesandincome taxesare paid.

have are Microsoft Office Suite of productsdevelopedbyMicrosoftCorporationthatincludesMicrosoft
Word, Excel,Access,Publisher,PowerPoint,andOutlook.Eachprogramservesa differentpurpose and
iscompatible withotherprogramsincludedinthe package.The suite of programsiscompatible with
boththe WindowsandMacintoshoperatingsystem. MicrosoftOffice isthe mostcommonformof
software usedinthe westernworld.The Microsoft Excel isSoftware developedandmanufacturedby
MicrosoftCorporationthatallowsuserstoorganize,format,andcalculate datawithformulasusinga
spreadsheetsystembrokenupbyrowsandcolumns.MicrosoftExcel usuallycomesbundledwith
MicrosoftOffice andiscompatible withotherapplicationsofferedinthe suite of products. Microsoft
PowerPointproductthatprovidesuserswithaninterface todesignmultimediaslidestobe displayedon
a projectionsystemorpersonal computer.The software incorporatesimages,sounds,videos,text,and
charts to create an interactive presentation.MicrosoftPowerPointinteractswithotherOfficeproducts
such as MicrosoftWord and Excel,andisincludedwithmostMicrosoftOffice packages. The software
will be neededinthe businesstosimulate the ideasandexamplesof the products. The clientswill geta

general.Publisherincludestemplatesformanytypesof commonbusinessneeds,suchasbusiness
cards, brochures,addresslabelsandcalendars.Microsoftoffersthe optionstodirectlymail the file,
exportitas anotherfile type oruploaditto the cloudand publishonline.Thiswill helpthe company
withadvertisement. The companycouldproduce itsownbrochuresandnot have to outsource to
anothercompanywhichwill save the companymoney. MicrosoftAccess isa pseudo-relational
