For their final portfolio project, students must write a 4-6 page paper from the perspective of a historical figure from an underrepresented group during the period of U.S. history up to Reconstruction. The paper must discuss an event through the experiences of the figure, how it impacted their daily life and the group they represent, and predict its long-term effects. Sources must include a scholarly journal article and adhere to CSU-Global writing and APA guidelines.
