2. Thesis
. American women are allowed by the U.S.
Constitution to be free, unlike Palestinian
women, despite what authorities say, for they may
be abused, thought of as unequal to men, owned by
their husbands, tortured, sexually mutilated, or
killed simply because men are thought of as on a
higher level than women.
3. Dress
Only face and hands may be shown for majority due
to religion. Body may not be shown at all.
4. Equality
Man is thought of as
leader of the family and
has to be kept happy at
all times. What the man
says goes and if one
disrespects the man
they could be killed.
Not true for all, but
happens to a little over
half according to
studies. Also different
jobs between men and
women and laws do not
protect women.
5. FGM
“Female Genital Mutilation” – Used to keep young
women “holy” and is an extremely risky and painful
procedure involving four different processes all of
which become more and more dangerous and
painful.
Normally not performed in medical setting, with
correct utensils, or with anesthesia.
6. Fighting Back!
Palestinian women are
trying harder to defeat
the sexism and
discrimination that they
receive even though
they may be held in
prison for doing so with
no charge and no date
of release. This is
however a start to a
better life for
themselves and future
generations.
7. War
These womens families can be torn apart at any
moment because of wars. The soldiers will rape the
women and children then murder them and shoot
the husband.
8. Strength
These women work hard,
take care of their
families, try to provide
for their families, and
keep their territories
happy with them at the
same time. They have
pride, strength, and love
and are trying to make a
better home of Palestine.
