5. Parts List
TP-Link TL-MR3040 (version 2.x) wireless router
16 GB Sandisk Cruzer Fit USB flash drive (FAT32
formatted)
LibraryBox installfolder
LibraryBox firmware update
Ethernet cable
USB charger + charging cable
6. Let's Get Going!
1. Unbox / Unbag all of the parts and place them next to you
2. Connect USB cable to your computer and the router (yellow light
should glow) - DON’T TURN IT ON YET!
3. Connect the Ethernet cable from your computer to the router
4. Switch the 3-mode selector to “WISP” if not already done so (only
ever use this mode).
5. Turn off your computer’s WiFi - yes, really
6. Open the command line (Windows: cmd, OS X: terminal)
8. Take out the USB drive

9. Take out the USB drive
You'll need a file from it
10. Snag that file!
1. Put the USB flash drive into your machine.
2. Copy the file .binto an easy to find location on your
computer, like your home directory (or My Documents)
3. Safely eject (the right way) your USB flash drive and
put it back into the router.
18. Now for the long wait......
Click "System Tools" -> "Firmware Upgrade"
Click the “Browse…” button and choose the file you
copied off of the USB flash drive just a moment ago
19. Upgrade!
Click the “Upgrade” button
Wait patiently for 10 - 20 minutes while the router
installs the new firmware and reboots
Don't trust the browser window!
21. While we wait...
Do Not Disconnect the Ethernet Cable!
Do Not Be Fooled By Flashing LEDs!
Help your neighbor if you think you’ve done it right
22. Time to check-in?
In your browser, go to 192.168.1.1
Celebrate if you see the LibraryBox screen!
Fold your hands and wait if not
... either way ...
Copy the additional files off my USB flash drive!
23. Now it’s BibleBox install time!
1. Turn off your router
2. Remove the USB flash drive and put it in your computer
3. Unzip the install_BibleBox.zipfile to your computer
4. Unzip the h5ai-setup.zipfile to your computer
24. On the BibleBox flash drive
1. Open the LibraryBoxfolder
2. Delete the Configfolder
3. Delete the Contentfolder
4. Delete the Sharedfolder
25. From your computer
Copy all 3 folders in install_BibleBox(Config, Content,
and Shared) into the LibraryBox folder on the BibleBox
flash drive
Note: content you want to share goes into the folders
inside “Shared'
26. Prep for a later step
Copy the two files in the h5ai-setup
folder to the root of the USB flash drive
27. Let's Keep Going!
Safely eject the BibleBox flash drive and put it into the router
Turn on the router and wait ~4 minutes for it to boot
Leave the Ethernet plugged in
Browse to any non-https website (like biblebox.org)
31. Create a Great Password
1. (windows and mac)
2. Type 1to set the password
3. Enter a great password (one you’ll remember)
4. Enter it a second time
5. Yay! You’re done, mostly...
$ box_init_setup.sh
32. Prettify the File Browser
While still connected using telnet/ssh, type this
$ cd /mnt/usb
$ chmod 755 install_h5ai.sh
$ sh install_h5ai.sh
