2. Your packing
Please keep your luggage under
20kg
Day packs should be a backpack,
not a handbag
You can take a suitcase with
wheels, duffel bag, large backpack
– as long as you can carry it.
3. In your day pack
Pens (at least one)
Wallet with Thai Baht already exchanged (you can do this at
the airport, but it won’t be great rates.)
Passport
Labelled medications to give to Mr. Cleary
Light cardigan/sweater for plane
Empty water bottle
Lunch (or Australian $ to buy lunch) before we depart (we
meet at 11 and our flight departs at 2pm.)
4. What do I wear to the airport?
Your tour t-shirt
(if you didn’t collect it from my office in the last week of school, I
will bring it for you. Be prepared to change into it in the airport
bathrooms!)
Comfy shorts/pants for the plane
Comfy closed in shoes
5. Money
You will need to pay for a lunch/dinner on the final day of
the trip
If you are taking a fair bit of spending money and you
want me to hold on to a portion of it for you, please put
this in a labelled envelope
You will need cash, not debit/credit cards. We will be
shopping in local markets
6. Food
Please pack a snack for when we arrive in
Bangkok
You will find it quite some time until breakfast the
following morning, and we won’t be eating
anything from minibars.
You may need lunch at the airport in Brisbane
before we depart – you can bring a sandwich or
some Australian dollars to buy something.
7. What should be in your checked-in
luggage?
Shorts and t-shirts
Thongs
A pair of shoes that can get wet,
muddy and left behind in
Thailand!
Your swimsuit (bikinis are fine)
Boardies/t-shirt/rashie for
rafting
Undies and socks
Pyjamas
Hat
Plastic bags for dirty/wet clothes
Girls – a pair of genie
pants/exercise tights/ ¾ shorts
etc that go below your knees for
when we visit temples
8. Don’t forget your toothbrush…
Your toiletries kit should include:
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Shampoo
Soap
Sunscreen
Insect repellant
Deodorant
9. Electrical stuff
Please don’t bring your phone, unless you want to use it as a camera.
HINT: Turn your phone to ‘airplane’ mode for the duration of our trip to avoid
unexpected data charges.
If you bring a camera/GoPro/iPod and want to bring the charger, you will
need an appropriate adaptor. You can purchase these from luggage stores or
Australia Post outlets.
