In what way does our music video fit, if at all, the music genre of our
chosen song?(9 responses)
It has a dark feel to it, much like the video does
The rock-y genre of the song fits the gritty nature and intense themes of the storyline
The violence in the video fit well with the music genre of the song.
I think the events in the video fit very well with the lyrics of the song
The violence/conflict fits in well with the sound of the sound, as it sounds quite alternative, which the
music video works well with because of the non-stereotypical style it has to it.
Not massively, because I'd expect more intensity throughout.
I think it fits the genre really well because the lyrics match with the storyline.
Quite a lot because the genre seems violent and the video has violence within it.
Before the girl fights back it does, then there is a complete change in fitting the genre.
What do you think was the message of the story line and was it clear?(9
responses)
The stalker gets betrayed by a former lover and seeks revenge
That stalking ends badly, so don't do it! Also that everyone has their breaking point if pushed,
threatened or harassed enough
An ex-boyfriend is stalking a girl who has a new boyfriend, ending in a confrontation.
I thought the key theme in the video was a girl being stalked by an ex-lover or a mysterious man she
has some kind of connection to. I thought the story line was very easy to follow
I think it could have been made clearer, maybe lengthening the start to determine why they have
broken up, but in the end it is made pretty clear.
Relatively clear but could've been made more clear.
The lyrics help to clarify that this is a relationship gone wrong.
A guy has been dumped so is stalking his ex-girlfriend, who eventually has enough of him.
Quite clear as he was chasing after a girl who has dumped him and he can't let it go.
What age and gender do you think this music video would most suit?(9
responses)
Young men
15+ both genders because it has a relatively relatable situation (messy break-up) but with a dramatic
and entertaining presentation
16-24 year old men.
I would say this would best suit a male audience aged 16-25
Young adults who are interested in this style of music.
Anyone who like the music style.
Teenagers - love interest focusses on teenage issues.
Anyone with an interest in this style of music and creative music video ideas.
Young male adults.
What do you like about the music video most?(9 responses)
Story line was clear and some excellent camerawork
The menacing ex-boyfriend is well-played by the performer. I also like the camerawork in places such
at the view of the stalker in the rear-view mirror and the pan from the ex-girlfriend leaving the home of
the new boyfriend to then reveal the ex-boyfriend watching them. The character's relationship is clear
to understand
The fight back scene from the girl as it subverted the female stereotype.
2. The flash back scene at the start was very clever as it laid the foundations for the rest of the music
video
The way the girl fights back at the end.
The attempt at the storyline.
Storyline ideas.
The car chase scene.
The flashback.
What did you like about the music video least?(9 responses)
The girl stabbing the stalker could have been better thought out
Small performance room for the band sequences
Changing of locations.
The ending
The lack of clarity to begin with on what is actually happening.
Lack of action.
Switching of locations regularly.
Nothing wrong with it.
The ease at which the girl hits back at the guy.
What do you think could've been improved about the music video?(9
responses)
More time spent on girl fighting back scene
More locations, perhaps in more public areas to show how the female character can't escape the
stalker, even when there are others around. More flashbacks to the past relationship and motivations
as to what made them slip up. Possibly more of the 'mirroring' shots between the new relationship and
the old one
Spending more time on certain aspects of the video, such as the fight back scene from the girl
could've been expanded.
The ending could have been improved slightly with more of a build up before the attack
Making clear why the stalker and the girl break up.
Creating more shots to make it look like there is more action in time with the song.
Focusing more on specific places to drag out the conflict.
More explanation as to why he is stalking her now.
The fight back scene.
What would you change, if anything, in the music video?(9 responses)
No change just improvement
.
Sticking to only a few locations rather than jumping between places.
Add more of a build up to the end scene
Clarifying the reason why the stalker is actually stalking the girl.
The camera shots and speed of changes.
Fewer locations.
Nothing.
Dialogue exchanged when he enters the house before she kills him.
