There are tonnes of fish in the sea. Have you ever wondered what they’re
called? Well you’re in luck my name is Jessica Metwell and I will tell you
where their habitat is their appearance diet and more, so what are you
waiting for read the next paragraph about their habitat.
Habitat
Blue tang are found round half the world. {The NZ half}. They are mainly
found in New york and Brazil in the coastal waters, coral reefs, inshore rocky
or grassy areas. Blue Tangs are usually found between 6-131m deep.
Diet
4. 4
Blue tangs are herbivores when they are young and omnivores when they are
adults because they are more capable of eating. They would be eating algae
{moss under water} or under water grass. When they are adults Blue tangs
will eat plankton and if they can find it a dwarf goby. They are very tiny so
they are hard to find.
Appearance
Blue tangs are lots of different colours. They are obviously blue but are also
yellow at the tail and a bit black around the eye but that is wen they are
grown ups. Baby blue tangs are yellow or green all over their bod.

Adaptation / Survival
Blue tangs are extremely hard to find because they can change colour.
Changing colour helps them to survive but not always. Blue tangs have sharp
spines on their backs and their tails. All fish have gills, they all work the same
way. Gills open to let air in at the same time water comes in and they will
open they mouths to let the water out.
Predators
There are lots of predators but very little of them get their wish, which is to eat
the Blue tang. Here is some of the Blue tang predators: Tuna, Bar jack, Tiger
grouper, Red lion fish, Barracuda. Here is a threat by site to a Blue tangs:
sharks. Sharks are predators because sharks eat fish.
6. 6
Predator attack!!
When a Blue tang is under attack they all fight back. Blue tangs will unfold its
their sharp spines and thrash violently this will cause deep wounds.
Sometimes the Blue tang will survive.
Blue tang pets
Blue tangs are very hard to take care of. First you need a big fish tank if
you're getting more than one Blue tang. Secondly, you need to make sure
they don't kill each other when they are sorting out their territories. Thirdly,
female Blue tangs will be more aggressive than usual when they are
pregnant and more likely to kill other fish. Fourthly, if you want another fish,
you must rearrange the decoration so they get used to it and there is more
room for the new blue tang.
Conclusion
Wow! That was a lot of mind blowing facts! I learnt a lot and I hope you did as

well. From the beginning I did not know anything and I’m guessing you didn’t
either.
Do you want a blue tang as a pet now? You might as well try. Bye!
