2. The book of Isaiah is the most beautiful and sublime of
all prophetical writings. It is sometimes called the
'Fifth Gospel' because of its emphasis of God's grace
and his redemptive work in relation to Israel and the
nations.
As you can see, in this picture Isaiah is preaching
the word of God to everyone. Isaiah has high
expectations for Jesus Christ, which shows that he has
faith/trust in him.
3. ISAIAH 35: 9-10
• "9No lion will be there, nor any ravenous
beast; they will not be found there. But only
the redeemed will walk there, 10and those
the LORD has rescued will return. They will
enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will
crown their heads. Gladness and joy will
overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will
flee away."
• These verses remind us of
the expectations we have
of the messiah coming to
collect and take us to his
kingdom.
4. ISAIAH 62: 11-12
• Isaiah 62: 11-12 speaks
about what god has done
for us and the expectations
that have been placed on us.
5. WHAT EXPECTATIONS DO YOU THINK ARE INVOLVED
IN BEING PART OF THE 'PEOPLE OF GOD'?
The expectations at this time of year would be waiting for Jesus to
come and take the righteous. When Jesus returns, He will be ready
for war. The nations will be gathered to fight against Jerusalem in
what we call the battle of Armageddon.
