POLITECNICO DI MILANO
Milano, 15/11/2015
As a personal supervisor of her PhD thesis, I am using this letter as an opportunity to
point out some of the many qualities and skills Ms Minja Marjanovic has displayed during
this three years long course.
During her studies at the Politecnico di Milano, Ms Marjanovic has demonstrated a distinct
aptitude for the architectural theory and practice, as well as a persistent and organised
approach toward expanding her knowledge and development of her PhD thesis.
As I have followed her work and have read her papers in the course of her intellectual and
researching maturing, I have witnessed myself not only in her researching capacities but
also in her personal integrity. Ms Marjanovic is dedicated young researcher, bent on
broading her horizons and ready to learn and further develop her skills. In contacts with
her colleagues, professors and students Ms Marjanovic is very communicative, tactful,
disciplined, hard working and cooperative.
I have seen how she functions under pressure and in different emotional phases as PhD
thesis is very stressful and demanding due to deadlines and unacceptable variations in
quality of the work results. I have witnessed her other abilities such as highly developed
intuition, high commitment to her work, concentration and problem solving focusing. She
is open minded for new and brave experiments and researches others may not even dare
to begin.
Advanced knowledge of English language is mandatory at our University, and Ms
Marjanovic had used it fluently from the very beginning of her PhD course. Nevertheless,
her commitment may be perfectly demonstrated in her mastering of Italian language, in
such grade that she manage to do her final thesis in Italia n language.
Having ali this in mind, it was my greatest pleasure that the originality and quality of her
PhD thesis Milan Zlokovié and the Problem of Proportions in Modern Architecture in the
20th Century was recognised and awarded by the highest grade summa cum laude, by
four Committee members at her final examination.
From my long experience as a professor I recognized in her a very decisive and creati ve
person, curious and lifefull. With her adaptability and dedication, I have no doubts that her
abilities and determination will continue to grow.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the above address.
Yours sincerely,
