The Covid-19 outbreak has a lot of us working from home now. It is true
that working from home can be just as productive as working from the
office or even more. You don’t waste time stuck in traffic jams or long
commutes, so you feel fresher, there are no co-workers that stop by
your office for a chat, no time’s lost in gossiping by the water cooler.
However, there are some people, who may not be used to this set up
and may find it a little difficult to focus. If you are one of them, here are
a few tips to help you make the best of the current situation.
This is another of those things that can get
you in the ‘work-zone’ mentally. Logging
into your laptop in your pajamas may not
bring the same, ‘I-am-at-work” mood as
wearing work clothes.
GET DRESSED!
Brew a cup of green tea, peppermint
tea, or your favorite tea flavor. The
warmth of the tea will help relax your
nerves and muscles!
MAKE A SCHEDULE
The first thing you should do is set up a home office. I
understand, space may be a constraint sometimes,
but even if you can dedicate a corner specifically to
your new office, it will really help as it can put you in
the “work-zone” mentally.
SET UP A HOME OFFICE
Easier said than done, of course, but, when working
from home, there are a lot of distractions that you
will need to consciously avoid. Pets are an example,
so is the compelling need to check the news on your
phone or laptop.
