the total UK releases within 2015.
At box officeThriller films made £37.1 million which is 2.9% of the
total box office.This shows that does not make a big impact on the
profit in the industry when compared to Comedy, Action and
Animation films which made £135.1 mil, £393.9 mil and £210 mil,
respectively.

3. Which films were most
successful and why
In 2015Taken 3 was the most successful thriller film in the UK.
Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation, Max Mad Fury Road, Furious 7,
which all come under Action –Thriller genre and were all
successful, this is because they made money at the box office.
Hunger Games also comes under the thriller genre and this was
successful at the box office

of the audience for this genre
5. Social Grouping
Taken 3 has an above average viewership from people belonging to
social groups D and E, which may show that action thriller films
appeal to people of a lower class. 29% ofTaken 3’s audience
belongs to the D and E social group.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, however had 41% of its
viewers belonging to the C1 group.
Spectre again had a different audience, with 38% of the audience
belonging to social groups A and B.
6. Age
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 has a fairly young
audience with 41% of them aged from 15-24.
Whereas Spectre has an older audience with the majority aged
over 45, with 13% being aged 45-54 and 23% aged over 55+.
