Lubrication Engineer - Reliability & Lubrication Solutions Ltd (Contracted to Islands Petroleum, PNG.)2015- current
Islands Petroleum is the current distributor of Mobil Oil products into PNG and the Solomon Islands. Industries visited include;
mining, oil & gas fields, civil contracting, palm oil plants, marine and sawmilling businesses.

• Co-ordinated site visits and provided engineering support to customers

Condition Monitoring Technician – Norske Skog Tasman 2001 – 2008
The plant monitored consisted of 3 newsprint paper machines, mechanical pulp mill, wood chip processing , water and effluent
treatment systems. The condition monitoring team is a self managed team to which all members enthusiastically contribute.

• Condition monitoring techniques utilised included vibration analysis, non destructive surface methods testing,
thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonics (thickness & fault detection) and facilitation of root cause problem elimination
discussions.
Geothermal Steam field Superintendent – Century Resources 1997 -2001
The steam field operated 24hrs per day 365 days per year, supplying approximately 300 tonnes per hour of geothermal steam to
Tasman Pulp and Paper mills. Hot, geothermal brine is also supplied to two binary, electricity generating plants.

Condition Monitoring Technician – Karioi Pulp Mill (Winstone Pulp International) 1986 - 1995
The Karioi Pulp Mill produces pulp products derived from renewable plantations for both New Zealand and international
markets and is the only New Zealand mill producing bleached chemi-thermo-mechanical pulp (BCTMP) from softwood Radiata.
• Carried out predictive and preventative mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repairs on all log handling and pulp
machinery
• Responsible for day to day operation and development of mechanical predictive maintenance, including TVL and

spectral vibration analysis, oil analysis, crack testing, thickness trending and fault diagnosis
• Available to assist, in a hands on role, during shut downs as required. This work varied from bearing changes on 9 MW
motors and pulp machinery to fault diagnosis on bale forming presses and packing line equipment.
• Responsible for pump mechanical seal performance monitoring and the resulting mechanical seal rationalisation and
upgrade
